What Star Trek episodes or films have you been watching lately?

Just finished season 1 of TNG last night. I forgot the awesomeness that is the Remmick meat-sack explosion. I wish they would have expanded on the aliens more. They were way more awesome than the silly Borg.

And I had forgotten what a good Rommie Alaimo was.

Over the weekend I watched DS9's The Maquis Parts I and II and The Wire.

The Maquis Part I started off strong but sort of fizzled out in Part II. Also characters seemed to show up and disappear from certain locations without any explanation. The Wire was solid, but frustrating. But that is what Bashir goes through whenever he spends time with Garak so I guess that makes sense.

Hope to finished Season 2 of DS9 this week.

Star Trek Nemisis and Star Trek first contact. I have just upgraded to Blu ray versions of those films from DVD so it was a good excuse to watch them again.

I just finished season 1 of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The season definately had some clunkers but overall I don't think it's that bad.

I’ve been rewatching the entirety of TOS in stardate order. I took a break several days ago about 20 minutes into Friday’s Child, and for some reason haven’t felt like returning to it.

TNG Booby Trap - in which, shockingly, the Enterprise ends up in some sort of... well... booby trap. I quite liked this one. It feels like kind of a minor episode, but with a newfound confidence and competence that makes it better than it might have been in Season 2. I liked the genuine sense of excitement and curiosity involved with exploring the alien ship - Patrick Stewart has a knack for this sort of thing. One complaint - the technobabble. Maybe it's because I was pretty tired, but it was just white noise to me. Thankfully it wasn't really the point.

I just finished watching Redemption Parts 1 and 2, in line with my rewatch of TNG. It has always been one of my favorite Klingon centric episodes of the series and I truly love Tony Todd as Kurn. I look forward to seeing him again in the episode featuring him and Worf, during DS9, when I get them in my ongoing rewatch.

Still watching Enterprise. Watched Detained last night, and one of my favorite first season episodes is up next, Vox Sola. I've been talking about each episode in the ENT forum, but participation has been so low that I'm debating if I want to do that anymore. That forum is deader than a doorknob.

I think that is the fourth time in the past 12 months that someone has done an episode by episode recap of Enterprise on the Ent forum. No wonder no one is participating.

I just finished Disk 1 of Season 2 of Enterprise. Shock Wave, Carbon Creek, Minefield and Dead Stop. Season one was better this time than I remembered, but I know season 2 is going to get worse before things get better.

I'm also watching Season 1 of B5. It has been years since I watched it. While the writing is okay but the acting is much more stiff than I remembered. I think they loosen up eventually. I hope they do. It makes me appreciate the acting in all of Star Trek.

Just finished Season 2 of Deep Space Nine. These were the most recent episodes I watched:

Crossover- I'm not a mirror universe fan, but it was well done. I like seeing the different versions of the characters we know. Otherwise, alternate realities don't do much for me.

The Collaborator - Oh that Vedek Winn makes me so ANGRY! She calls Kira "child" every chance she has to talk down to her. Louise Fletcher is great in the role though. Lots of twists and turns in this episode. Too bad Winn comes out on top.

Tribunal - I hate stories where people are falsely accused of a crime. I find it so frustrating and get no sense of entertainment value from it. I like how the plan was to draw out the true traitor all along, but the previous 40 minutes were tough to get through

The Jem'Hadar- Wow, top notch stuff. I remember very little of DS9 pre Worf so these episodes all feel brand new. I had no idea they planted the seeds for the Dominion War this early in the series. I certainly don't remember any telepathic powers for the Vorta, but the rest was great. Plus, the taking out of a Galaxy class Starship was a surprise. This episode made me very excited for Season 3.

I'm going to take a break from DS9 for a little while to catch up on Mad Men and Breaking Bad. I'll start Season 3 in maybe a month or so.

I wouldn't know as I've only recently just begun to post in that forum.

I watched Star Trek VI the other night and have been slowly getting my way through the second season of TOS. Hopefully I'll get to more of that this weekend:)

I re-watched the Measure of a Man the other day with my dad. He hadn't seen it before. Impressive stuff. Picard is... all said and done... an incomparable character.

Today, I have watched the TOS episode, "That Which Survives." It was not one of the better episodes, in my opinion, but it was entertaining, as are quite a number of the Season Three episodes anyway.

Ooh, I just have to jump in here, since I'm doing that too. I find the acting fine, in some cases very good. The cast will improve once Bruce Boxleitner shows up, though. Sinclair's OK, but I miss Sheridan.

It's an interesting experience, as the pilot and several of the first few episodes aren't quite B5 as I remember it - too much Sinclair-as-Rambo, but the improvement over the course of the season is very noticeable. I've also found I like certain episodes a lot more on a re-watch and I'm surprised at how many things that will crop up later are already present in the background.

Season 1 of B5 gets some stick sometimes, which I can sort of understand since there are some dodgy episodes in there (Infection? What the hell was that?), but I actually like it a lot better than the first seasons of most Trek series. It's aged well, I think.

To tie this into Trek: the last episode I watched was Eyes (much better than I remembered) and I was very pleased to see Jeffrey Combs of Trek fame make a guest appearance. This may be the only time I've seen him on TV playing a human.

Anyway, next comment will be about TNG, I promise!

Although I am a die-hard TOS fan, I have been watching some season 1 episodes of ENT (the box set was on sale at Wal-Mart). So far, they're not as bad as some people make them out to be. It's just disturbing to see a "mean" Vulcan (T'Pol) when Vulcans seemed so noble in TOS.

I just finished Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 5.

The library is currently replacing their copies of season 6 and 7 so for now I'm moving on to Star Trek: The Animated Series.
