What Star Trek episodes or films have you been watching lately?

TNG's "Q Who"

Wasn't it a great time when the Borg were actually something to be terrified of? By the end of TNG (and certainly throughout Voyager), the Borg became watered down and normal.

I watched Star Trek V this afternoon. It's not the best Trek film, but it does has its moments, and it shows the Big 3's friendship quite well.

Going to watch Trek 2009 again before I return it this week. (Yes, I do have to buy my copy; it's so obvious right now).

I think I'm going to have to buy (or re-buy) my top films and keep them in wrappers....or buy two copies(watch one, keep the other wrapped)....or buy one and rent the other....

*sigh*

Obviously, I'm a certified film nerd...

The Missus and I have been enjoying the local Fox affiliate's 1 AM airings of TNG. Plus, thanks to estate sales or something, a local bookstore chain-ette ("Half Price Books") has been selling utterly random VHS tapes for a dollar or fifty cents apiece, and I filled out my ST movie collection with the first five (the rest we already had on DVD) so we had an in-home ST Movie Marathon to celebrate. Now we want to know about XII--what are the plans, who's in, and when? Somebody spill!

Okay, I just posted in this thread recently, but I have been watching more Trek since then so I figured that I would post.

Arena
Operation Annihilate
Who Mourns for Adonais?
Assignment Earth (again) because I'm working on a dress that looks like the one Teri Garr wears

Saw Storm Fronts 1 & 2 this weekend. Nasty stuff. Trek combines well with plenty of genres, but WWII espionage drama isn't one of them.

Second best moment was at the very end, when Archer basically gave Daniels and the TCW the finger. And not a moment too soon.

Best moment was the flotilla of ships coming out to greet the E. Am I the only one who found that incredibly moving, despite the previous two hours that we'd sat through?

Saw "Unexpected" and "The Andorian Incident" last night. I've never seen "Unexpected", and was amused by Archer's naiveté regarding the Klingons. I liked that cruiser; reminded me of a D-7.

Shran didn't seem to have as big a role in Andorian Incident as I expected...did they intend him to be a recurring character?

Right now I'm watching TUC with my son - some minor flaws but an outstanding story. We're in Vegas and just returned from the Trek convention. Good times.

Yesterday we watched ENT's Fight or Flight - a good episode That show held such promise for us but more often than not it didn't deliver. He and I often discuss what works or doesn't in the series and films, and ENT occupies much of our conversation. Archer's stiffness, T'Pol's bithiness, the catsuit all four seasons, the lack of character development for many especially Mayweather, Sato, and Reed, etc. Pity.

Voyager's Killing Game l and ll was a better take on the whole World War ll setting if you ask me.
I thought it was horrible. OK, so it's a holodeck episode, but did it have to be full of so many WW2 movie cliches? I half expected someone to walk in and say "Listen to me: I will say this only once"

Last Night

One of my all time favourites. :techman:

On Thursday night, watched "This Side of Paradise" after reading the TOS novel "Inception" which featured younger versions of Leila Kalomi and Carol Marcus. Always a riveting episode. "I don't know what I can offer against...paradise"
Following that was "Regeneration" the first chronological (in universe) appearance of the Borg. Excellent link to First Contact and an effective, plausible way to insert the Borg into Enterprise.
Continuing with a Borg theme, a few hours ago watched "Survival Instinct" from Voyager which featured Seven of Nine's former unimatrix drone mates, one was Admiral Forrest, Vaughn Armstrong, rather.

Actually, most of First Contact took place in 2063, while "Regeneration" took place 90 years later in 2153. First Contact is the first in-universe chronological appearance of the Borg. :borg:
