What games are you playing currently?

Yeah, saves can kinda be a pain at times. I hate it when games don't let me pause when I want (even during a cut scene) or save when I want. That said, once you're into the first town you can do a lot more free roaming and only a few talks trigger missions. You can kinda put them off a bit but I do recommend doing Hosea's missions first. It's the only way to get a fence unlocked and upgrade camp and you def. want to upgrade camp to unlock crafting and fast travel.

Well I have another problem. I have to help someone with the dynamite for the train robberie, but the moment I want to pick it up the game crashes. anyone familiare with the bug?

Pc. It happened not for the third fucking time, this takes more than half an hour already

Hmm... I've played on both PC and console and not had that issue but a google search pulled up some things you can try. I'd go with this one first since it's a non-invasive and fairly way to possibly fix the CTD issue.

Also since you're getting the CTD at a specific spot you should make sure you still have HDD space (that can matter more than you might think). The point you're at triggers a cut scene and that cut scene is likely what's causing the CTD. Do you have the option of a SSD/NVMe? If you do and you haven't already installed there I'd make sure that was the drive the game was on. Also, it may sound stupid but you might need to disable your antivirus during game play or set it to a gaming mode.

I don't understand the video, my English isn't good enough. Last try I could get up on the train, I helpt my partner on the train and the game crashed again. It takes me more then ten minutes to get to that part. It is so fucking irritating. So after more then a hour I still don't get it

What's your native language?

I'm going to try to simplify what he said.

Go to your start bar's search (at the bottom of the screen) and type in "optional features" and hit enter

That should bring up a window that says something like System->Optional Features and has a list of things. It will look something like this:

a7VnggB.jpg

From that screen hit the View Features button which will bring up a box that you will type "graphics" into:

mCND76N.jpg

Check the box for Graphics Tools and install it.

Now open your game and from the main menu hit settings ---> graphics

From the graphics menu, scroll down until you come to a sub heading that says Advanced Graphics. That setting will be locked by default. Click on it and unlock those settings. Just underneath that lock you will see a Graphics API (it's probably set to Vulkan but you want to change that to DirectX12.

Once you've changed the in-game setting to DirectX12, make sure you hit apply and then exit to the game's main menu. Play as usual and see if that fixes the issue.

You can also try changing/lowering some of the other settings but try the DirextX change first. (Also, one commenter to that video said the DirextX change didn't work but swapping it back to Vulkan after changing it to DirectX did work - just something to keep in mind).

Thanks for your advice. I skipped the first part and went in the game and changed the game settings to DirectX12. I finished the train job, the boring travel untill I got in my own tent. Then the game crashed again but this time because of not enough memory. Now it is late so I quite. Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it.

That's great news and ironically so is the error you just got because that gives us something we can work with.

Fix 1: Disable the Steam overlay. This may well fix that error altogether but you can also increase the page file size because that error is due to virtual memory which pulls from your hard drive (that's why I asked about your hard drive earlier).

So fix 2:

When you're less aggravated and tired you need to increase the page file size and that should take care of things for you.

https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/red-dead-redemption-2-out-of-virtual-memory-error/

And if that doesn't do it we can look at using a mod to fix it but given how you've described things I'm fairly certain virtual memory is your culprit. We'll def. find a way to get it working one way or another. Oh and don't worry about thanking me - I want anyone remotely interested in Red Dead Redemption 2 to be able to play it and enjoy it. It's a special game that's brought me a ton of joy and if I can help someone else enjoy it, I will do all I can. :)

Just finished Stardrop, which I'd recommend any sci-fi fan who likes a good story. It's basically a walking sim/exploration game with puzzles, good writing, characters and voice acting. Looks great and impressively developed by a single person.

^ I really enjoyed it. Sure, it has a bit of that Far Cry feel, but the gameplay loop is fun and the main questline is pretty decent. And I don't even care about the Avatar movies. Plus it's a gorgeous game.

I almost bought it. Would've if Wal*Mart had matched their online price but the Far Cry comparison I read when I got back home backed me off of it. I have tried several Far Cry games and never been able to get into any of them. Avatar looks fun though. I suppose the good thing about Ubi games is that they tend to deeply discount them if you wait.

So instead of Avatar, I ordered Tears of the Kingdom and a wireless controller to play it with. I'm still waiting on them to come in. I'm playing BG3 right now and have really enjoyed it. I'm not the biggest fan of turn based combat but Larian has done a great job with it. The camera still drives me crazy at times though.

And finally.... Dell got back with me on my laptop and they're swapping my m17 for an m18 so I'm getting a slight upgrade - bigger screen, bigger processor, gpu etc. I had wanted to upgrade the hard drive but they told me since the model they're sending is a refurb they can't upgrade it. (I don't mind that it's a refurb - my original was actually a refurb). They could've upgraded me a little more for pain and suffering but overall I'm thrilled I'll be getting a newish laptop back and the upgrade I am getting is slightly better than what I had so I'm over the moon about that. (Just wish for more space! :) )

ETA: And now, I'm concerned that I screwed up... I already approved it but damn it. It looks like my 3070 RTX was a better graphics card than the 4060 they're replacing it with. I wrote them and said I was concerned but I doubt it goes anywhere. This is frustrating...

I finally have Read Dead redemption 2 running, so far good. Only I have to ride a new horse for the "hunting the bear" mission and I can't mount the stupid new horse. I am getting sick with these stupid "bugs". I have played a lot of games but I never have these kind of problems.

It finally worked but damn it doesn't help to get into the story

Ok I am done with the game. I finished the "hunting the bear" mission. It was a fun and easy mission. I choosed to kill the bear, and after I rode back I heard someone screaming. The moment I jump of my horse the game froze. So after restarting the game I have to replay the whole fucking mission! Wasting 1,5 hours. I asked for a refund but I am afraid that Steam won't give my money back.

Sorry to hear you having so much trouble with the game. Played it on PS4 and didn't have any such issues.

Started with Borderlands 3, so far it's better than I expected, it does have a few bugs though but nothing too annoying, the soundtrack is really more diverse than the previous games in the range which is nice. :mallory:

NES game Ski or Die came in the mail earlier today which I bought the game off of ebay just last week.

played the halfpipe and the snowball fight minigames in the game for my Retro Duo console.

been a long long time since i played Ski or Die. completely forgot how to turn around in the snowball fight
