What games are you playing currently?

Is is awesome but would have been nicer if they had compensated you a little bit more for the injuries

Yeah they're quick to exchange because they know they're at fault but I'm happy to do a full exchange given that it was puked on shortly after it burned me. They know I'm a desperate gamer :)

I heard that Cyberpunk 2077 was good now and I got it during a Steam sale. I've completed the first act of the game and started a few side quests. I'm really liking it so far.

That's one of those games I started playing then got a little bored and dropped it. I keep wanting to try it again sometime but life keeps getting in the way.

I played CP2077 once the PS5 version was released and I really enjoyed it. Now I'm waiting for a price drop on Phantom Liberty so I can replay the whole thing.

Red Dead redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 are on Steam sale, I still can't decide if one of those games is for me. I love good rpg like KOTOR, Mass effect, Dragon Age, and the Witcher 2 and 3.

It's a fairly large DLC with Idris Elba. I know it adds a new location to the game. I don't really know much else about it because I'm trying to avoid spoilers.

You will love it. I never thought that combat needed much of anything but the Phantom Liberty DLC is amazing. Story is great but the gameplay improvements are amazing, especially if you like playing a netrunner. Quickhacks are fun and a helluva lot more effective. Phantom Liberty overhauls the entire skill tree system so it's a bit confusing at first bc it's not like it used to be but Phantom Liberty not only adds a lot there but also there's relic points/skills you can get.

I def. recommend starting over as a new character with PL. It's very, very good.

RDR2 is one of my all time favorite games. It starts slow but if you can immerse yourself in the pace of things, you'll love it. There's not much in the way of rpg character development - you play a premade character and you're not going to be slotting skills or changing attributes but you explore a big open world. Story wise it's one of the best of all time. And if you do get it, make sure you spend time in camp listening to the stories and songs. Honestly, a ton of RDR2 players will tell you that they wish they could erase their memories so they could play it again for the first time bc that first time is so incredible.

Cyberpunk 2077 is more RPG in terms of leveling your character and such and it's very good too, especially with Phantom Liberty. As much as I love it, I would put it a notch below Red Dead 2. (RDR2 made me and everyone else bawl their eyes out at various times - story is just next level).

If it helps here's my all time games: 1. Ghost of Tsushima/Red Dead 2. Witcher 3

Cyberpunk's still great but it's below those 3 for me.

Ditto :) I've never quite felt so immersed in a game as in RDR2. The characterizations in the game are some of the best in the industry, and it's got a heck of a hook into being emotionally engaging. I still feel like it's got one of the best stories in a video game to this day.

Some of the characters I've created in a test cell where I've been learning about AI packages and then testing in-game. I need to work on the faces a lot more but that can wait until the final stages after they've been placed in the game world. I feel like I've hit a slump because I can't do much more until I plan out the story but I'm not getting the inspiring ideas I need. I'm gearing towards a kidnapped retired scholar and his niece enlists my help to rescue him and suppress evil forces along the way and it soon becomes too similar to LOTR and I feel like it's back to the drawing board. I'm also unsure if I should include humour in the dialogue or steer clear of that. The Elder Scrolls lot don't stand for lore being mocked which it could unintentionally stray in to.

TBH, I think it's one of the best stories in any medium in a long damn time. It's hard to believe no one has made it into a movie yet because it's one that in the right hands gets you some Academy Awards.

I wouldn't worry about Elder Scrolls lore.... Per Todd Howard and per the old loremaster Michael Kirkbride who came up with most of it back in the Morrowind days "everything is canon." Which is to say that Elder Scrolls lore often contradicts itself and offers multiple readings and explanations for the same thing. For example, ESO is canon but it takes a sledgehammer to prior lore and even re-imagines how slavery happened in Morrowind (narrowing it down to the Telvanni rather than all dark elves). That basically means all interpretations are valid when it comes to lore and canon. Everything is canon but also nothing is canon as it can change and individual canon is as important as what's found in games.

Yeah, I agree, it's the type of story that would be quite at home as a movie, and it definitely does have that Academy Award level feel to it that throws some mean punches to the gut. That scene where Arthur Morgan realizes time is ticking with his health is one for the ages. Despite the many men he's killed, he realizes it's one thing he can't beat. And there's a simple beauty and poetry in that.

I've read some reviews and it does seem like a pretty cool update / addition to the game.
And yeah, I'm definitely starting with a new character. :)

Spoiler tags bc some are considering playing it and I don't want to ruin anything by revealing too much:

There's something so incredibly real and awful in the fact that this anti-hero/hero that you've become attached to is going to die from something so mundane and due to a job he never wanted to do. Arthur is morally repulsed by the loan shark side of things because at his core he believed Dutch's message about helping those in need and only taking from those who had a lot/too much or other outlaws.

Even though he starts to doubt Dutch, Arthur never really doubts that they should be helping people or Dutch's original message. He knows the harm he's done and knows he can never make up for it but in the end he does everything in his power to help other people and is desperate to set John and his family free from a way of life that has run its course and just can't exist any longer. There's just a lot going on in the story. It's about Arthur, Dutch, and the Van Der Line Gang but it's also about the march of progress -- civilization, industrialization, and it's consequences. A deft screenwriter would make sure to expose how awful the Pinkertons and other private police really were.

Even though Arthur is an outlaw and living what's left of a life in a world that's moved on from all that he knows, it's obvious that not all is good in the new world. In fact, a lot about what's coming is worse. I could go on and on -- there's just so much to unpack in the story.

Yeah, which is why I tried to be as vague as I could without spoiling too much ;)

And yes, there's some beautiful writing in this game, and for this reason, I'd be willing to die on a hill defending this game against GTA 5. I feel RDR2 is Rocktar's best creation, which only makes it more of a shame that they abandoned it.

Somewhat of topic but.... I must've scared the hell out of Dell with the burn I received because just now I was watching a youtube video and I hear a ding from another tab in my browser and it's Tech Support asking if I sent the old laptop to them. I told them I had sent it yesterday morning and sent them a picture of the drop off slip and gave them the tracking number. They said they would update the case and keep me updated. I don't think I've ever had tech support keep in contact with me this way.

Even when I had premium coverage and had them send a technician to replace the keyboard it wasn't quite like this. This feels more like they're trying very hard to keep me happy rather than just trying to fix an issue and move on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this ends in a small upgrade but I'll be happy just to have my old gaming laptop back. {It's hard to go back once you have an RTX card.)
