What games are you playing currently?

For my money, The Witcher 3 makes every Bioware title look wooden, stilted, and dry. I don't think I could suffer through Mass Effect: Andromeda anymore.

I'm liking Witcher 3 more as I play, but it can never hold a candle to the best oif Bioware, like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins. No game really can, at least for me. Still, it has gotten better and will probably end up being a solidly entertaining experience, even if no one beats Bioware when it was at its prime in my opinion.

BTW Total Biscuit made a video about my new game and just after that the lag monster happened....

I started climbing buildings to get collectibles and that tanked my frame rate.

I'm still happy with the game. Just it is a day one release....... These issues hopefully will be addressed.

Still plugging away at Elite: Dangerous, but I also started a new game called Firewatch. It's a walking simulator/survival game where you play a forest ranger, and I am enjoying it immensely.

Walking SImulator is an awful genre term and everyone should stop using it, unortunately we live in an imperfect world and it's sort of too late

Firewatch has some of the best voice work and voice direction of any video game, pretty much ever

Yeah I enjoyed Firewatch when I played it back when it was first released.
Firewatch was a very enjoyable experience IMO.

I just finished it, and the ending hit me right in the feels.

Indeed. I prefer to think of them as interactive audio visual novels. This one was particularly good. The visuals are gorgeous, the voicework is top notch, and the story was solid. I will definitely keep an eye out on the next outing from Campo Santo.

I'm still playing Witcher 3 and I'm definitely enjoying it now. the combat can still be a bit to difficult at times, but I can usually deal with it (or run away). Although it can also just be tedious, like when fighting a tough creature I knoiw I can beat but it just takes forever to whittle it down (that's what the difficulty selector is for :shifty:). I did fumble two quests today, getting the worst outcomes for both. I reset to an earlier save both times though, and I'm glad I did because the bad endings to them weren't great and the second one would have apparently made me lose some interesting/important stuff later in the game.

Besides Witcher 3 I've also been downloading Smite. I've never played a MOBA, but I really like mythological gods stuff so since Smite is a well regarded (and free to play) game, I figured I'd give it a try. It hasn't finished downloading but I was able to play the tutorial after it had downloaded a certain amount, and it was fun. I'll probably just stick to the more casual modes when I get a chance to fully play, but the stuff the tutorial teaches was interesting and it also has two practice matches for two of the modes and I liked playing them. I have a lot of other stuff to do, but I think I'll enjoyed messing around with Smite a bit.

Also, I finished MK X'sa story mode. it was pretty good, although not as good as MK9 or Injustice's story modes.

I just finished Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Man, that was a ton of fun. Especially the final chapter which is amazing, I loved it. :D I liked that it was more light and fun than U4.

I just finished up a rewatch of the Lord of the Rings (Extended Editions), and that has inspired me to give LEGO Lord of the Rings another try. I wasn't real happy with it on my first play through, but I'm hoping I might like it a bit more now that I know more of what to expect. I'm also hoping maybe there's been some updates since we last played that could have fixed at least some of the issues I had with it.

Have to say, I'm not sure what the appeal is for the Lego games. A while back I got the complete Lego Star Wars in a steam sale and honestly...it was pretty dull stuff. I can see it being appealing to younger kids and that's perfectly fine, but I've seen older more seasoned gamers rave about these things. Am I missing something (besides a soul or a sense of humour ;) )?

You are not alone. I have LEGO Star Wars II The original trilogy, and while fun I have to say it's really not that great. I don't see the appeal, despite being a long term lego fan. But that's real LEGO that you can hold and work with.

Welp, finished my chronological marathon of every Sierra adventure. Quest for Glory 5 and Gabriel Knight 3 were two good notes to end on, both being strong (if not QUITE the best) entries in their respective series, and both series being my two favorite Sierra series. If I had to pick my top three Sierra games overall, I'd probably go with Quest for Glory 2, King's Quest 6, and Gabriel Knight 1.

Next up, I think I'll be replaying Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Judgement Rites, which I nabbed from a GOG Interplay sale recently. It'll be the first time I've played the CD-ROM versions of them. After that, I've got a hankering to replay the Quest for Glory's as a thief. Need to acquire that blackbird! Did a paladin during the marathon.
