I've started playing Metal Gear Solid V on PS3. It runs fine and looks fine, its definitely a good port and works well on PS3. The game play is pretty good so far, I'm not too far into it. I watched a 2 1/2 minute Ground Zeroes recap so I wouldn't have to spend an extra $10 at Gamestop to get that expensive demo/prologue, and it really was all I needed to see to know what happened in GZ.
I know the story (which is a bit part of the MGS experience for me) isn't great in this game, but hopefully the more open world will be fun to compensate for that. Kiefer Sutherland isn't very good as Snake, and I hate that Kojima took the "Zelda" approach to the main character in this game. I don't consider the character to be an "extension" of me as a player, I consider him a well established character who I've gone on a journey with in MGS III, so the mostly Zelda approach is lame. That said, I know its not as big a deal as it could have been because I got hugely spoiled on the "big twist". Still, I don't like the voice change (when I can't see the faces and Ocelot and Snake are talking I can barely tell when the voice I'm hearing is Kiefer Snake or Ocelot). But the gameplay is fun, and if it stays that way the whole time I'm sure I'll keep enjoying the game.
