When did Romulans time travel back to the 21st century?![]()
What is this from?alt-nu-Kirk and La'an meet one in 2022 or so, when it is shown that Khan is now a child in the 2020s, and not a grown man in the 90s. They state they have been trying to alter the timeline. There is a BoP in a UFO pic. lol.
What is this from?![]()
OH! This is from SNW? I haven't started this one yet.![]()
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (episode)
La'an travels back in time to twenty-first-century Earth to prevent an attack which will alter Humanity's future history – and bring her face to face with her own contentious legacy. "Security officer's log, stardate 1581.2. Nobody told me when I took this assignment just how many friends it...memory-alpha.fandom.com
sincere apologies for the spoilers.OH! This is from SNW? I haven't started this one yet.
You didn't spoil anything, you're fine. I don't care about "TV spoilers" so long as someone doesn't blurt out a death scene.sincere apologies for the spoilers.
What's that from again? I'm drawing a blankto be honest, that might explain how the Romulans ended up back in the 21st century trying to mess with the timeline.
I'm not so sure. She's definitely got a major chip on her shoulder over damaging Federation interests, and why shouldn't she? Her mother was sent back in time, by Picard, to defend a Starfleet ship, allied with Klingons, & thereby undermine Romulan interests.Sela wasn't out for revenge. In "In Mind's Eye" and the "Redemption" 2-parter, I believe she was picking sides in the Klingon civil war or something like that. In "Unification II," she was out to take over Vulcan, I think. Been a while since I saw these episodes, but revenge against people she never met was never part of her character.
I actually liked Tasha Yar. Great character. You're not wrong, Crosby's character was a bit bonkers. LOL
As for killing off Yar, "at the time," Crosby had made it clear she was leaving and likely not coming back. This is the late 80's where shows didn't really have recurring characters in the same way they do today. They killed off Yar, likely because they didn't think Crosby would come back later on. Oops.
Are they messing up SNW with changes in the timeline now?OH! This is from SNW? I haven't started this one yet.
Fortunately, this is Star Trek. There are way more possibilities to bring a (dead) character back than in your regular show. She can come from another timeline. She may be a clone - genetic or transporter. A facsimile created by some alien race, or an android. And then there still are the more regular options e.g. she might be a twin we never knew the existence of (evil, or otherwise). Not a good idea as I see it.
It also show thatproducers should be a bit careful before killing off a main character because the actor wants to quit.
All of a sudden, the actor/actress chanhes his/her mind and want to come back to the series or the rating for the show goes down after losing a popular character so they give the actor/actress an offer he/she can't refuse.
If the character then has been killed off, then the producers are struck by a severe problem and have to come up with weird or ridiculous solutions to solve it, like that "return of Bobby Ewing in Dallas" which was downright hilarious or something like the Sela plot.
Agreed on all 3 points. I always loved it when Crosby came back as Yar or Sella and found it hilarious that it always boiled down to "because time travel."I actually liked Tasha Yar. Great character.
I was sad to see her leave.
I agree that the comments are fun.Agreed on all 3 points. I always loved it when Crosby came back as Yar or Sella and found it hilarious that it always boiled down to "because time travel."Think about it.
Tasha's return in "Yesterday's Enterprise in an alternate timeline, because time travel.
Sela's mom is from the future of a defunct timeline (Sela's POV).
Tasha returns a 2nd time in "All Good Things..." because time travel.

Was Natasha Yar any "less real" in "Yesterday's Enterprise" than her S1 counterpart? I'd argue that regardless of timeline, alternate Yar is just as areal as the one we knew. In the TNG finale, Natasha Yar is very much the one we knew.I agree that the comments are fun.
But I must state that I find stories based on time travel and alternative universes confusing sometimes. They often mess up things.
In that case I wish that it would have been a way to bring the real Tasha back.
Fortunately it is so.
So far I've managed to bring back Kes, restore Garak and bring back Gowron, using plausible explanations for that.
A little more difficult with Tasha Yar and Jadzia Dax.

Kes did get to come back in "Fury."
Isn't Garak alive and well as of the DS9 finale?
Why bring back Gowron? We gotta move on with Martok as Chancellor.
Jadzia Dax: DS9 S7 really missed the mark by not bringing Jadzia (and Terry Farrell) back as a ghost of sorts through the Dax symbiont.

What kind of Kes came back in thst episode? Not the one we knew, that's for sure. (One may say the has been consumed by the Dark Side, if we use SW terms).
As for Garak, I think Lynx means something from the books.
Also, he doesn't like the way Gowron went off.
As for Jadzia, at least there's that ritual from Season 3 episode "Facets"...
The answer to this question seems to be entirely dependent on personal opinion. Are they messing up SNW with changes in the timeline now?
I've been planning to watch SNW but if they start messing with established Trek history in the same way as they did with ENT, DSC, PIC and the NuTrek movies, then I'm not interested.
As for Kes, I simply refuse to see the disgusting creature which showed up in that season six episode of Voyager, the worst ever episode in any TV series ever made, as the real Kes.
The monster was simply Suspiria in disguise or an evil entity from another universe.
