Walter Koenig's son is missing?

Such a terrible tragedy. :(

I really feel for Walter and his whole family.

Love and prayers to you all.

Something to note - apparently the Koenigs were supposed to be on Larry King and they pulled out literally moments before going to air. I can't help wonder if this might have been why.

Supposedly, the story going around is they were supposed to be on at half past the hour, but King kept bumping them back until the last segment -- and kept breaking for commercial toward the end -- so they left.

E! "News" tonight spent their only coverage of this item trying to manufacture a controversy about the Koenigs pulling out of the interview. Leave it to E! to scrape the absolute bottom of the barrel when people are suffering.

Why do people watch BOTH of those shitty channels? Unsubscribe now!

My condolences to Walter & Judy at this sad moment.

For Andrew, I offer this:

'May you find the peace in death that you never found in life.'*

This sucks either way.

If something bad happened---it's awful.

If he's just hiding/laying low/keeping a low profile---he's being a total jerk. His parents are obviously loving concerned people despite the fact that's he's a middle aged man and if he's not aware what anguish he's putting them through--he must be crazy.

Still hope he's alive.

Walter's a jewell of a person--at least from the way he acts at conventions.

Well if you have ever dealt with extreme depression you may not think that way. It messes with your every thought. What does Andrews age ave to do with his parents loving him and being concerned about him? Most parents no matter what their childs age would be just as concerned and loving. He could have been 60 and the feelings and concern would have been exactly the same.

I just send the following condolence note to his inbox. He's always been a decent fellow to regular fans, and a nice guy all around, who is really one of our people, so this hits close to home for me.

I wish to express my deepest condolences to Walter Koenig and his entire family. I have several members of my family and friends who are fighting depression right now, and seeing the tragic loss of your son, someone who, like Mr. Koenig, I feel like I know on a personal level from television and meeting Walter/Andrew at various cons over the years.

I have friends and family working with depression at various stages right now, as so many people do, so thank you for using your celebrity to speak out and get the warning signs out there. People need to hear this material, and need to hear that they can reach out for help, and to take the time out of your personal space during such a tragedy, just made this 40 year old sci-fi, tech nerd, feel like it was nice to know there are still good people out there, fighting to help.

Wishing you our best,
Dwayne S. Josephson and Family

Oh, man. My heart goes out to Walter and Judy, and Andrew's sister.

They don't know 99.9% of us from Adam, but because we "know" Walter, they are -- whether they like it or not -- part of our "extended family", so while we get all the privacy in the world, they are not afforded that same privilege. I feel for them in that, too, especially at this moment. Their grief cannot be THEIR grief. At a dark moment like this, they are still being shared with us.

Poor, poor Walter and Judy. You don't know me, but I feel for you. May God bless and keep you.

There is a writeup and dozens of pages of comments on cbc.ca: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2010/02/25/bc-body-found-koenig.html#socialcomments

Most comments express condolences to Walter, Judy, Danielle, and the rest of their family and Andrew's friends. A few not-so-nice comments may be the result of a misunderstanding between not knowing for sure if Andrew had been found and later seeing the confirmation. Unfortunately there are always a few idiots who log on just to post nasty "why is this news" comments.

But by and large, Canadians have been following the news updates on this sad happening and sincerely wish nothing but peace for Andrew and his family.

For myself, I watched the press conference on the 'Net, and am grateful to Walter Koenig for finding the strength to go public with this and to reach out to other depression sufferers (I am one). He may have saved someone else's life with that encouragement to seek help.

Agreed. I am so, so impressed by the Koenig family, reaching out to others, to help those still suffering silently.

Look -- screw our silly space stories. We feel the impact all the more because it happened to a family we think we know. But there are those all around us, in our own lives, who could suffer just such a dreadful circumstance. Let's all make an extra effort to help, to understand, and love -- and never judge. In our own small ways, let's never let such a fate befall any of our own friends or family.

This is sad beyond belief. Our condolences to Walter and his family. He is truly a class act.

I've had problems with depression and the only way I've found to deal with it effectively is to stay busy. Easier said than done, but it works.
