USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

I think that was Doug Drexler's original design(or an early one) before final modifications were made for "Azati Prrime(ENT)."

It is one his designs, yes. The producers didn't want this one because they wanted it to look more like the NX-class so the audience wouldn't be "confused."

It's monstrous in size and strange-looking. But to be fair any Enterprise from nearly 200 years after the time of Jean-Luc Picard should be pretty big and odd in design.

I believe the secondary hull of that alternate J design, is based off a concept he did for the USS Voyager.

Star Trek Online did end up using this concept design it as a frigate sized companion vessel for the Ent-J to launch as a 'fighter' pet.
I do like the flying wing design of the top most link although I do think it works best as a frigate support ship for the J looks wise.

He called that version Congo.
I like that best because it works with the set where Daniels talks to Archer.

That set is curved, like the bow of the secondary hull. That vantage point also allows the shot of the lower saucer sensor dome to be seen out the window.

It all works then.
