USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Something else I noticed on second viewing: The strobe lights are on the top of the viewscreen JUST like 'Where No Man Has Gone Before" version viewscreen! Nice homage to both Pike AND TOS!
They also have strobe lights below the screen I think.

The corridors appear to be just redresses of the Discovery ones, but they did add the grating!

The turbo-lifts have handles like TOS

I didn't notice this when watching the episode, they even kept the lighting shining through the grating over the turbo lift entrance

The rectangular ceiling lights were there, too, above the new row of paired lights I thought had replaced them.

I loved seeing the floors whoosh by in the turbolift. Classic TOS element.

The communications officer had an ear comm. Not the same design as TOS, looks more like a modern bluetooth one, but still.

I honestly don't recall if Discovery's comm officer ever had one.

DSC actually went more primitive with the multicolored indicator lights! On TOS even as far back as 1964 they blinked individually and were dynamic. These look like backlit cels or transparencies.

Well played.

DSC let TOS have the technological advantage in this one case.
They repeated the same pattern over the entire bridge as well.

Almost looks like they have data pads embed into the consoles.

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood
My fault. I just don’t much care for the emojis provided by the board and what I wrote would have gotten me into trouble with Po. ;)

Nice catch on the colored buttons. I also appreciated you pointing out the cookies over the turbolift. Ancient and brand new this bridge is, and in all the right ways.

I want an Enterprise show. I'm very surprised by this reaction of mine.

Yeah, I'll admit to being in the same boat. For me, it's been like this:

Past me: "Pike and Spock in season two? No thanks!"
Current me: "I love Pike and Spock so much."

Past me: "Please, let's not do a Pike show."
Current me: "I'd like a Pike show, thanks."

I don't know how much show I want, but I want something.

Also, I have to give credit to the way they're updating everything old because it's continually elicited visceral reactions of, "Yes, that's perfect!" from me. It happened with Peck, it happened with the corridors here, with the bridge set...what a beautiful bridge. With Star Trek 2009, I felt more like, "I guess I see how these things are related and I can accept that," but here the way they've worked to update everything feels pitch-perfect and often enriching (like Spock's backstory). I'm thrilled with everything we got here.

So credit to the show for dashing my hopes repeatedly in ways I like.

I can't wait for all the delicious side-by-side comparisons of new and old sets.

A bit bummed that the refit didn't it make it look more like the TOS version. I thought that was the reason why the ship action at the start.
