USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

There will now commence a 500 page thread on how the interior design of Enterprise on Discovery isn't right because it isnt the exact same set from a 50 year old show. And there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and much lamenting of Jellybean buttons and tiny triangular monitors.

The maintenance walkways in ENT were hella colourful

Reminds me of ST5 with all the pipes.

I'm reading it as metallic grey, but the piece above Michael's right shoulder does seem to be drifting into the blue range.

I'm willing to chalk some of this up to monitor differences, as well as also depending upon our BBS color skin settings, as the presence of other colors in a scene has been shown to affect color perception. And I'm not going to even consider claiming that my monitor is properly calibrated.

But the red-orange smudges out the teal, and the lens flare makes the teal stand out too much. Don't you agree?
GAH!

Well you made me switch to Big Blue. You now owe me a pair of retinas.
I'm seeing the same color palette as in the TOS pictures Tuskin posted.

For those who were not browsing this thread back before John Eaves' facebook was deleted, one of the other changes the VFX team did was to make the nacelles glow. The glow was not part of the final version John Eaves' and his co-designers submitted.

I think maybe the glow on the rear of the nacelles as well? I don't remember that part specifically.

I admit that the Kelvin itself is a nice design. I really didn't like the new Enterprise though. It's weird, because I like the movies, but can't stand most of the production design at all.

I kind of feel the same way. Before the Narada's arrival in 2233 the ships looked pretty great. Afterwards...meh. I like a couple of them but for the most part the Kelvin Timeline starship designs are so-so at best. I do love the Klingon warship aesthetics, though. JJ and his team preserved the Prime Timeline Klingon look (at least their ships) pretty faithfully while adding just a few little things here and there to let you know this is no longer the same timeline and history.
