The Beyond ship is an original design, the Discovery one is an uninspired blend of two existing designs.I like the Kelvin timeline 1701-A but the Discovery version of the NCC-1701 is a much better-looking ship.
Nah. it was inspired by the Connie.is an uninspired blend
If you take away the blue nebula, it looks darn near identical to the TOS Enterprise. It looks even more like it than the TMP enterprise.
Looks good in the TOS-R Cage Nebula too.

You're mis-reading the label. "Deflector shield grid" clearly points to one of the two vertical lines that run up the pylon. On sheet #2, corresponding lines lead into the pylons from what's also labelled "deflector shield grid" that runs along top of the secondary hull.I'd always thought those were heat dissipation grilles or something similar. The FJ blueprints claim they're "deflector shield grids".
Certainly there are similar looking grilles on the refit and other later classes.

No, it doesn't. Not if you know the TOS ship.
The TMP ship is the one it most resembles, but clumsily.
The Beyond ship is an original design,
Neat little ortho with the DSC and TOS variants. Credit to CommodoreMJFire on Deviant.
Fine, an original take on an existing design. The Discoprise is a mashup.
Who was the main designer of this incarnation of the legendary USS Enterprise?Looks good in the TOS-R Cage Nebula too.

I'd use the Nacelles from the Franklin, for me that was the perfect revamp of the TOS warp nacelles. If I had to redesign the NCC-1701's warp nacelles to look slightly different but still largely the same I'd probably use design elements from the NX-01 as well. Archer's vessel has some very cool-looking warp nacelles.
John Eaves if I'm not mistaken.Who was the main designer of this incarnation of the legendary USS Enterprise?
