USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Looking at the site, apparently he is a lightwave user, and that the ships in show are made in maya.
You can import models from Maya into lightwave, probably fbx or obj, but the uv's and texture would either be totally fouled up or just not there.
So he probably got show assets but had to redo the textures in lightwave when he imported them.
Happy he is putting these shots up.. Nice seeing well lighted shots!

In the first trailer we got for Season 1, before they switched VFX houses, the USS Europa had the TOS Hull font, or one close to it.

Some of the background ships in Episode 2 kept that font, but you can't see it in the actual episode, just on the renders Eaglemoss released.

Side note, my brain keeps wanting to write font as fon't for some reason, and sometimes my fingers comply.

Well, if you guys think the Enterprise changes are bad, imagine how Star Wars fans felt when they tried to tell us Bail Organa's ship in Revenge of the Sith was the same Tantive IV seen in the original 1977 film now subtitled A New Hope. The changes were so drastic Lucasfilm eventually relented and said they were different ships.

They did? That's dumb.

Really? That kind of destroys the whole on-purpose nostalgia point of having Bail in that ship.

I'm a Star Wars fan, and I got the connection right away and was totally fine with it. Bail Organa's ship looked just like the Tantive IV to me.

The Blockade Runner in episode 3 has a lot of differences if you look at them side by side.

Also Clone Wars CG series used the Ep4 design for the Tantive IV long before Disney came along, and George worked on that show it would have gone through his approval.
