USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Starfleet has multiple ship classes that serve together - no reason the Klingons can't.
*war breaks out over Organia*

KLINGON ADMIRAL: Send 36 D7's!

KLINGON COMMANDER: The D7's again? Sir, we have hundreds of other ships. Bigger ones, with massive red glowing cannons!

KLINGON ADMIRAL: I SAID I WANT MORE DEE-SEVENS!

*200 years later, attacking Deep Space Nine*

KLINGON ADMIRAL: Send 94 D7's, 120 Birds of Prey, and maybe a couple of Vor'cha and Neg'Var's!

KLINGON COMMANDER: About those hundreds of bigger, older ships we're just sitting on?

KLINGON ADMIRAL: I LIKE HOW THEY LOOK LIKE BIRDS

Considering the design appears to be based off the D7, I think those are engines, not canons.

The aesthetic also doesn't appear to match any of the other ships in the trailer.

From other images, they look to be rounded engines off the "wings", almost a cruder, ancient version of a D7.

I think seeing Enterprise would be nice--but I also wouldn't mind if we never saw it. A mention might be enough. After all, Starfleet is a large fleet and the Federation's a big place. It's not inconceivable that Enterprise is simply too far away to be seen on screen.

But if it shows up? Of course I'll nerd out.

I really hope it shows up. I expect it will. They've made a point to indicate the timeframe so I'm pretty sure they will show the Enterprise. I'm totally fine if they update her. Given their track record with updating iconic props, I have no worries. Although, I actually expect that there won't be too much updating. More details, better lines but not a dramatic change. Like the new phaser looks more finished and more detailed, but largely recognizable.

If they decide on a more substantial update, I'd be fine with that too.
