TV shows that STILL aren't available on DVD!?!?

I know Blakes Seven, Fringe and Hart to Hart (at least in the UK and on dvd) are. Without a trace seems to be too, but not M.A.N.T.I.S.
(it's listed on amazon prime, but says unavailable on dvd)

Blake's 7 isn't available in the US but you can find Region 2 DVDs on Amazon. If you don't have a region-free player, though, you're screwed.

I remember New Amsterdam. It was actually cancelled before it ever aired. The title was recently reused for a medical drama, and as you mentioned the concept of an immortal main character is also popular.

What was Silk Stalkings?. I always remember sort if seeing adds for that and it would run late at night and I gather it was suppose to be kind of sexy and lacey but not sure beyond that.

I have both of those shows, and only recently got Jake 2.0. Look on Amazon it's available right now, that's how I got my copy.

Other shows I'd like to get hold of but are not available (that I know of)

Fringe was released on DVD and Blu-Ray back in the 2000’s. I bought them as they came out. Amazon.ca is still showing the complete series Region A/1 as available.

That's all fine and dandy, but Mill Creek should be using double-sided DVD discs to put their TV shows on, rather than be compressing them to fit on one disc each; that makes them not anywhere as good as Image Entertainment, Shout Factory, or Kino Lorber (the company that recently came out with the excellent DVD set of the cult classic TV show Coronet Blue.)

I disagree. I have many series on DVD flipper discs and they don't hold up over time. Some didn't even play upon opening the box. Compression isn't idea, but single sided DVDs are superior and more reliable to double sided any day of the week and twicwe on Sunday.

As for having the Screen Gems logo at the end of each episode of the I Dream Of Jeannie set you own without any logo plastering of the current Sony Pictures Television logo (I too am a fan of the 'vanity plates' myself), you can always go to YouTube and get a video of said logo (best way to collect one is to have a video downloader program that allows you to download videos from YouTube to keep for yourself for later watching, or to get the Torch browser, which has a 'download a video from a site' function as a part of it.).

Well sure I had it on a file for years, but having them at the end of every episode completes the nostalgic experience, I grew up watching IDoJ in the 70's and, as with every other show, I watched it to the very end, from start to end logo. That was a time I got the most joy out of TV watching. Having the logo at the end brings back very warm feelsing of those days. It's akin to the Desilu logo at the end of Star Trek.

I'm not sure if its illegal, probably not, but there's a tiny/free program I used to use that would turn a locked region DVD drive on my computer, into an all region DVD drive, that could be found with google probably.

But you were talking about the box underneath the TV.

No, here in Canada & the USA, set top DVD & Blu-Ray players are sold “locked” to Region 1/A NTSC due to fears from the major film corporations. However you can usually find codes online to “unlock” your player to play all regions.

That's odd. Over here that's just not the case, the only thing region locked are bluray players. Mine is locked to region B which is Australia, no idea why we got B and not A. but when playing DVDs I can chuck anything into it and it plays.

Wasn't Ronald D. Moore one of the writers on that show? I seem to recall that he worked on it during that brief gap after his abrupt departure from the Star Trek: Voyager writing staff but before he became the head writer during the 2nd season of Roswell.

After looking up Jake 2.0 and Special Unit 2 on the VEI website, I saw that they also put out Deadly Games and Legend! I remember seeing part of a few episodes of Deadly Games back in the day. It was a show about a guy who made a video game but then something went wrong and all of the villains from the game started appearing in the real world. Christopher Lloyd was the main villain and I remember that one of the one-off villains was played by Brent Spiner. I never saw Legend but I probably should given that it's a western that teams up Richard Dean Anderson & John DeLancie. Based on the premise, it kinda sounds like it's part Wild Wild West and part Remington Steele.

BTW, I don't know if any of you are familiar with Kenny Lauderdale's YouTube channel but his videos are mostly about uncovering obscure Japanese anime & live action shows from the 1980s that have never been released in English. They all look pretty awesome to me, particularly The Laughing Salesman and all of the delinquent schoolgirl shows.
