Torchwood: Miracle Day episode one "The New World"

This is going to sound strange, but does anyone know if Voyager's Garret Wang made a cameo in this episode? If you look at the scenes with the talking heads discussing the Miracle Day, he seems to be one of the commentators on screen. I didn't see any screen credit for him though.
Indeed, there's one that we have frequently crossed from PA to NJ and back. While you don't have to pay to go from PA to NJ, you do have to pay to get out of NJ. We've joked about how no one would pay to get into NJ but plenty would pay to get out!
It's funny because there was actually a NJ joke about Wales right around this time.
However, I actually see the Welch side of the joke in that people are paying to leave England, but no one would pay to enter!

I saw that too. It looked like him. I didn't see his name in the credits either. Hmmmm.... Ensign Kim gets looked over again for promotion(al).
Three novels are planned for release in the fall which will serve as prequels to Miracle Day.
Honestly, Torchwood being transferred to American authority is a bit easier to accept than an American military officer taking control of the British government in Children of Earth.
Wishful thinking on their part. We know they can't afford things like bridges, and we would hate to leave them trapped in Wales their whole lives.
Most toll bridges in the U.S. you pay when you get on, not when you get off. I would be a little surprised to find a 'hidden' toll at the end of the bridge.

That might explain the whole Bridge/NJ joke, I want to rewatch it now.
While it's not exactly hidden you do pay when you get off the Mackinac bridge in Michigan sometimes as they collect the toll only on the North side of the bridge (though they do collect no matter which direction you are taking).

The bridge on I-95 across the Susquehanna is like that. Traveling south across it, there is no toll. Traveling north across it, you pay the toll after you've crossed it. It's marked before you get to the bridge that there will be a toll, and if you know the stretch of road, you'll know why there simply can't be a toll on the south bank of the bridge -- the interstate curves down a hill and through a cliff cut and then you've over the water, and there's no space for a toll plaza except for on the north side.
Another example is the George Washington Bridge across the Hudson between New Jersey and New York. You pay your toll on the Jersey side no matter which direction you go; there's no room on the New York side for any sort of toll plaza.
I'm also reminded of the Delaware border crossings on I-95. Seriously, the toll plazas to get into and out of Delaware are like East Germany before the fall of Communism. Of course, those toll plazas are how Delaware finances state government.
Well, first of all, Torchwood isn't a regular British organization anyway. To quote the intro from Series 1 of the show: "Torchwood: outside the government, beyond the police".
Strictly speaking, Torchwood is not part of the British government, but of the British crown. As such, they don't seem to be answerable to anyone... which makes it somewhat similar to Star Trek's Section 31, I suppose.
In addition, Torchwood seems to be pretty much defunct since the events of Children of Earth, with Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper being the only two surviving ex-members of the organization.
Technically, the CIA wasn't taking control of Torchwood, they simply were taking two of its former employees into custody.
Whatever happened to the pet Pterodactyl and all the Weevils? Went kablooey with the rest of Torchwood?
Correction, a former head of Torchwood, a former Torchwood employee, a former truck driver and a baby. One has to question, why rendition a baby?
I quite enjoyed this "relaunch". I guess because I didn't let the toll bridge get to me. 
I thought the doctor was hot, she needs more screen time. But I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the series. I wonder though if anyone who never saw the show before in the US would have any idea of what's going on?

When the baby was taken into custody, she was merely caught in the Crossfire because Gwen had her when they were captured. After agreeing to being held, she was allowed to leave the Baby behind with her mom.
