Torchwood: Miracle Day episode one "The New World"

First interesting thing is that the head stayed alive despite being deattched from the body, is this evience of some sort of soul?

No, I don't really think so. Now, "They Keep Killing Suzy," where Suzy was walking around talking without any kind of impairment despite the face that the back of her head and most of her brain was missing, that was evidence of a soul. Which made her and Gwen's conversation about whether there's an afterlife later on a little strange.

I gave up on torwood after 3 episodes of the first series. Then I heard Children of Earth was good so I thought I'd give it another go. I think it's a really interesting idea with lots of potential. Well executed as well although the helicpter chase didn't feel right. The cut to the beach was too quick but they've sure improved the budget from the first series.

To clarify, did you see Children of Earth?

That cyberwoman episode is what really put me off. I guess I've got some catching up to do.

Ironically, Cyberwoman was when I came around and accepted Torchwood. Not that there was anything wrong with the previous episodes, it was just after Cyberwoman when I decided "yes, this is a show worth watching."

I mean, yes the Cyberwoman's costume/lack thereof was ridiculous and embarassing, but look past that and it's actually a fairly decent episode.

Hey guys!

My name's Kimmy, and I'm working with Starz to help get the word out about Torchwood: Miracle Day. I wanted to give you all a heads –up that Torchwood: Miracle Day will have a Comic-Con panel featuring an EXCLUSIVE video that will be unlocked online and at Comic-Con on Friday, July 22 at 1:15pm ET/10:15am PT. In order for this to work, you would have to share “Population Boom” via Twitter, Facebook and email with as many people as possible. Fans who shared the video will be notified via email when it’s live.

If you’re not going to be able to attend Comic Con this year, the exclusive video will be featured here: http://www.starz.com/originals/Torchwood/ComicCon/Pages/ComicCon.aspx.

If you have any questions, please let me know! :)

I also found the action and direction clumsy but it was a long time ago I'll have to see if a friend has it on dvd.

Right there with you. I was shocked to be chastised for thinking it was a pretty good episode. I too, thought the episode was the place where I decided I was definitely going to ride it out.
