Trans warp beaming. The transporter has and will always be a problem in Star Trek. Its a plot shortcut that stretches reality and eliminates tension (since the hero's can just be beamed out if anything gets too perilous). I liked the way they were handling the transporter up until Spock giving Scotty that formula. They built a thrilling sequence out of the unbelievable difficulty is to "catch" someone as they fall through the air. The idea that sudden movement, like the ground giving way under your feet will foul it up. One of my favorite bits in all of Star Trek happened in the TMP, the transporter malfunctions and kills someone. That's to me how the transporter should be handled all the time: as an imperfect last resort that might kil you --or worse. I don't like the idea of Scotty suddenly having a formula that makes it easier and safer. Oh, and anyone arguing that Gaila is chubby is either jealous, anorexic or gay... or a hypocrite (you fat bastard).
