Things That Will Never Be Answered

Was Q sincere in 'Q Who' when he offered to renounce his powers and join the crew? Was he banking on Picard saying no, and what the hell would he have done if Picard had answered 'yes'?

Q is rarely sincere about anything.

I think it will never be explained why Kruge killed Valkris when the tape had become widespread knowledge.

The tape was not widespread at that point. As far as we know, Valkris was the only Klingon who had seen it. Kruge killed her to keep his mission a secret, and so he could take credit for bringing Genesis to the Empire.

Indeed. Starfleet makes a point of informing all the Enterprise crew that the whole business with Genesis is classified and not be discussed--and they even assign an undercover agent to McCoy to make sure he doesn't blab about it in public. (Remember the scene in the bar?)

We're told there's a controversy, but not how much the general public knows about Genesis, which Starfleet is trying (and failing) to keep hush-hush . ....
"What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret, so, naturally, the whole school knows."

One question that will never be answered. After we evolve into energy beings, will life be any fun, or will we just kinda be hovering around with a higher understanding of stuff?

Like Lenin, he was biding his time in Switzerland, waiting for his train. ;)
Now that's a STAR TREKKIAN response - an Historical reference utilised for further clarification and making the character more substantive ... and substantial! Nicely done, sir ...

How the Federation economy works without money

(*sound of can of worms being opened*)
Debit cards, of course. It's how Uhura paid for her tribble.
What the hell is a 'tootsie pop'?

An on-topic question - Was Q sincere in 'Q Who' when he offered to renounce his powers and join the crew? Was he banking on Picard saying no, and what the hell would he have done if Picard had answered 'yes'?

Once we are magical glowy things, we will have endless fun messing with the solids. Heh, heh. Stupid solids.

Energy beings? Higher forms of non-corporeal intelligence? Oh, no, that's for all the *other* life forms out there, not for humans.

Apparently, we get to become salamanders.

My take is that that guy was the lobby rent a cop ("federation security") up the street at the Starfleet Building and since no one else was availible, he walked down to the bar to get McCoy to shut up.

In "The Return of the Archons", Sulu becomes one with the Body during the teaser, then is apparently taken to sickbay for observation before Kirk and the others go off to look for O'Neill. Festival erupts shortly after they arrive, but we never hear if it affected Sulu. Did he start racing around the ship smashing things, while screaming "Festival, Festival!"?

Actually, he ran around shirtless, brandishing a fencing foil, and the rest of the crew was all "Really, Hikaru? This nonsense again?"

Scotty says Sulu is peaceful enough when contacted after Red Hour starts, IIRC.

In Gamesters of Triskelion, when they were in their holding cells, what was happening between Uhura and her training Thrall? (It really looked wrong)

Did Geordi have a crush on Tasha ? (He said some weird possibly sexual stuff to her in the Naked Now)

How did the Klingons go from ridges to no ridges to ridges again? No, seriously, how did it really happen?

I think it was pretty clear he was trying to force himself on Uhura. After the incident he tells her she isn't allowed to refuse selection.

Enterprise devoted two fourth-season episodes to this very topic, Affliction and Divergence. They provided a passable explanation for the ridges/no ridges/ridges again appearance of the Klingons over the years.

The Vorlons always seemed to be a happy bunch...

And Q certainly seems to have a sense of humor. And Lord knows Trelane was "playful" as a child . . ..

I'll take it. I can always create a physical body for myself if I want to, and then return to the great beyond when it suits me.
