Chris Carter says he won't do more X-Files without Gillian Anderson. So it sounds like this will be the last season if Gillian Anderson doesn't change her mind.

If Gillian Anderson absolutely won't come back, the only one I'd like to see replace her is Jennifer Beals (as a different character of course). She and Duchovny were friends at Princeton and he even wanted her to play Scully before Anderson got the part. It would be nice to see them partner up.

Just saw the season premiere of "The X-Files". I didn't see that twist coming at the end but somehow it didn't surprise me.
Yeah that was not as bad as some of the reviews made it sound. I was a bit surprised they retconned My Struggle II into a vision Scully was having.

Ugh, that was awful. The Moon landing was faked. "My Struggle II" was just a dream. But worst of all, the Cigarette-Smoking Man impregnated Scully. Gross.

I'm still confused by everything but I am intrigued by the twist.
It's been a long time since I've watched season nine, but before giving William up for adoption, didn't they give him some sort of treatment to negate his special abilities? I guess it wasn't effective or wore off.
They just couldn't let Mulder be the father, could they? And not crazy about the faked moon landing. Also, I'm not sure why they needed Barbara Hershey there, since her character was pure exposition.

I enjoyed the first episode and thought it was much better than the 2 mythology episodes in Season 10. I'm still worried about the finale though. Hopefully it doesn't end on another crazy cliffhanger and has a bit of closure in case this is the last season. I don't want Season 12 to begin with another "it was all a dream" reveal.
I think that might have something to do with Gillian Anderson leaving.
Before the last season premiered she came out and said as long as they pay her equally and well then she will keep making the show. Then the last year she is like "I'm good, I'm out of here", I feel this disgrace of a storyline is a huge part why.
Because he's a hack. If Fox knew what was good for them they would have pushed him to the side lines years ago.
Ok, so how did he create this show that we care enough about to be calling him a hack?
