Spoilers The X-Files: Season 11

We'll have to imagine that ourselves. As it's supposedly between M and S (David and Gillian). I kind of find that kind of thing to be a cop-out on shows that do this kind of thing.
It's either something personal that we'll never know or related to the resolution of the son storyline in the final episode.

The same thing Bill Murray whispered into Scarlett Johansson's ear in Lost in Translation. ;)
"Au revoir, gopher?"

"Au revoir, gopher?"
It's the former according the writer. So we'll never know. As for the final ep, so not looking forward to it.

This show went from 16 million views to 3 million in under 2 seasons. That's... Impressive.
Yep. All in part due to CC's crap-tastic writing and the other writers... efforts.

I was kinda bored of this episode. It was gross but I just couldn't get into the story at all. In fact I think I'm ready for this season to finally be over.
That was me as well. Fast forwarded through some of it and boy was that ending... meh.

I liked the episode. Was the main lady actress crazy person one of the main stars of "Halt and Catch Fire?"

This season was partially entertaining, but also crushed any hope of us getting ANY resolution of the mythology arc. I think the show itself gave up on its own mythology arc this season. It's an anthology.

I still think it's better than last season. The Darrin Morgan, Mandella Effect episode might be one of the shows top 10 episodes of all time.

So who's excited about the finale? Hopefully it won't be terrible, but I don't think there's much likelihood of it being incredible either. There's obviously no chance at a satisfying resolution at this point, but if this is to be the last one I really hope there's not a ridiculously over the top action-oriented cliffhanger.

This season has been weird. I felt like season 10 felt weird, and I remember thinking it may have benefited from having a longer season as it felt like it was over before I really grasped what I thought of it, but now I feel like this season has gone on forever. There were episodes I really enjoyed, but the energy is always at least slightly off. The action and violence is a distraction too, it hasn't been used very effectively IMO, a small act of violence enacted toward a well drawn and sympathetic character is more effective than some shitty car chase or some super-hero-esque organ donor liberator going crazy with a stick.

Anyhoo, I think that the finale will consist largely of Moulder and Skullcrunch sitting round a courtroom waiting for CSM to come and face charges (he's a rapist now as well as everything else), but the longer they wait the more teeth fall out of their head, so by the time CSM is dragged in kicking a screaming by AD Skinjob they can't even speak anymore. Suddenly the judge starts cackling like a madman, pulls off his judge wig and is revealed to be a grey alien. Muldrone is really excited. The whole courtroom erupts into a ball of flames, presumably killing everyone inside (except CSM, because, as we all know, he can survive flames). It then cuts to a split second shot of Alex Krycek holding a lighter and a can of petrol with the words "I DO BELIEVE tattoed on his eyelids.

*crickets* I'm just excited for it to be over for what it's worth.

Yea I've noticed that too. Some eps had some strange pacing.

I'm not particularly excited about the finale. No way can it deliver a satisfying conclusion. I suspect it'll just muddy the waters and raise more questions, and then end.

I have enjoyed a few of the standalone episodes this season. It's nice seeing them in action.

I've been wondering if they should have done more mytharc episodes in the new seasons. By only doing two episodes in the seasons, they weren't able to really get as deep as the did in the earlier seasons, and I think that has hurt it some. I loved a lot of the mytharc episode of the early seasons, but the new ones haven't even been close to that level.

David Duchovny posted on Instagram earlier- "Hope you tune in tonight for the cliffiest of all hangers. Thank you to all the fans, old and new, for finding us, sticking by us for these 11 seasons, 2 movies, and 25 years. I don’t know what’s next, but this one’s for you. DD‬"

It's ending on a cliffhanger, so don't be expecting much resolution folks! A cliffhanger that sounds like no one has any idea if it will ever be resolved :techman:

(that was a sarcastic thumbs up by the way)

Oh well, just hope it's a good episode.

Oh for fuck's sake. Chris Carter got the rarest of rare chances to finish his damn story after such a long time away, and instead he is trying to keep his overly long idiotic mythology arc going forever. When X-Files came back for such a short season, I really thought they were going to wrap this thing up.

Oh, the nerd rage will be hilarious if David is telling the truth.

I long since gave up getring any real answers and closure from the show, even with its return. I just hope it's fun with plenty of Mulder/Scully banter.

If it is truly the cliffiest of cliffhanger, that's lame. This is the time to be wrapping things up, not opening new questions.

Like Emh, I'm mainly hoping for fun. But, an unresolved cliffhanger is never fun. Lately, I've been mainly enjoying the standalone stories the most because the mythology has been too streeeeeeched out.

Going in with low expectations.

In the words of Keanu Reeves:

Well, that was wonderfully absurd...which is about par for the course with the show since its return.

Decent ending and I agree not all that much of a cliffhanger. Sure, William is magically alive (he wasn't using an illusion to make CSM think he was shot because of the bullet hole) and Scully is magically pregnant, but again, that's par for the course for this show since, well, ever. The only shocking thing about Scully's pregnancy is how it could happen considering their relationship has been presented so restrained and unseen.

The bodies certainly dropped (and then William got up again). Of course, CSM probably survived yet again. What's a few bullet holes when you've had a missile shot at you and cave collapsed on top of you at the same time? And I bet there's some wiggle room for Skinner, too.

And, of course, absolutely no closure on any of the alien conspiracies. If you're surprised or disappointed, then you haven't been paying attention for the last quarter century. ;)
