Done as requested. How do I change this? Mods please change title to The Walking Dead Dead City Season 3
They are getting other roles, they just aren't paid as much as AMC is.I didn't realize it started again. FOr me, it just feels like trying to squeeze the last life out of Walking Dead, and giving the actors of Maggie & Negan a paycheck (since they aren't getting other roles even though they have clear talent).
I might catch up in a couple weeks...have lots of work and other stuff to catch up on.
I don't think so. Typically AMC likes to announce in advance when a show is ending and promote the season as the final season. Also with Daryl's final season being withheld to 2027, I think it's possible there might be another Dead City season airing that season and that will be the last, basically end this chapter of the franchise in the same year.I think this will be last season.
Season 1 of Dixon is better than Dead City. But I would argue Dead City has been the better show since.I don't get why this show seems to get lower scores than the Daryl Dixon one. Is it because Maggie and Negan just aren't as interesting as Daryl, or is it because the "Deadhatten" setting isn't as world building as France and Spain are?
Did i miss where the Croat got stabbed or something? Why was he dying?
I didn't re-watch last season's finale, but this episode kinda feels like a re-set that makers hoped no one would notice (like the difference between seasons 1 and 2 of War of the Worlds from the 80's)
His story as an antagonist is actually, to me, more original and interesting.... trying to recover from his banishment from Negan, and truly powering NYC, yet still treated as an underling to the Dama... it would have been cool to have him rise up against, and redeem himself... but instead, they nix him without much drama (as an audience member).
There's a rare "C" rating from @TREK_GOD_1 , but i agree with the grade.
But learning Maggie's plan is to try and bring about a romanticized version of pre-apocalyptic life even to the point of adopting methods which would seem unconventional and impractical in apocalyptic times, and well, that storyline's been done in the franchise before.
Even the end with those shady looking dudes with spears seeing the lit up Statue of Liberty and making their way to NYC wasn't exactly a plot twist.
Given the CRM's capital city is supposed to be Philadelphia, that puts them close enough that it's kind of odd we haven't seen so much as a helicopter flying over New York at all throughout this series. Now that the Statue of Liberty is lit up again, someone from the CRM really should be taking an interest in the place, even if we are in the reformed CRM from after the events of TOWL.By the way, in the overall TWD universe timeline, where is the CRM by S3 of Dead City?
Hopefully
Rick & Michonne basically wiped out the majority of the CRM's army.... so i think they are down in that area, and re-prioritizing. They probably aren't going out of Philadelphia now for a while. The Walking Dead: Dead City
Season 3 - Episode 2 - ”Haven”
There's not much to this episode, other than to set up the repeatedly used moral dilemma of how far the so-called good guys are willing to embrace immoral acts in order to start and/or preserve a sanctuary. Wisely, this episode's writers had Negan discuss that very topic, referring to the history of the Savor era, and what leading that group naturally ushed him to do. Of course, Maggie will deny this, and the episode had her support this position by keeping The Dama alive and setting up the Statue of Liberty beacon.
I feel like they really wasted Negan's "return" to Savior days...i was hoping last season he was using that to manipulate people, and use that past experience actually against the "bad guys".The hinted future conflict will center on Renata believing Negan is the man he's always been--which we're supposed to buy when Maggie discovers The Dama as a Walker--with a knife buried in her chest. If this leads to yet another Maggie vs. Negan conflict--or it draws in Hershel, who is put at risk or killed--it will turn out to be a predictable, ho-hum affair, hence the reason I believe S3 should be the final season, as the back-and-forth enemies-to-frenemies dynamic has a finite shelf life of interest and believability as the backbone of the series.
Seems kinda weird to kick him to the curb...but at least they didn't kill him like Michonne's friend in TWOLPerlie returns...only to be shoved off to New Babylon. I did appreciate Maggie asking him to return to the island, as he's become one of the only true friends she has. That said, I do not want to see their moment upeneded by Perlie returning (and he will, according to the trailer) and turning into Maggie's enemy.
I was not surprised to see The Dama killed off, because I suspect her influence did not die with her, and someone will be the living vessel to contine her loony, murderous schemes....
Thanks to the teaser, we see the armed survivors arrive on the island, only to bite the hands that fed them--unless there was some misdirection, and the true attackers are from another group. Either way, TWD franchise has worn out the idea of ZA-world communities being incapable of permanent security and sustainability. For all of its underlying corruption, the Commonwealth was a model example of people restoring the Old World strengthened by surviving in the ZA. Nearly 20 in-universe years into the ZA, large groups should not fail as often as TWD franchise's showrunners love to push time and again.
GRADE: C.
He was bitten in the abdominal area, as revealed when he stumbled from the explosion site.
Indeed!Oh, the pain!! I watched [iWar of the Worlds[/i] from the start and really soured on the S2 changes!
I suspect the showrunners are trying to subvert expectations by getting rid of the former Big Bads early on, only to be replaced by someone posing a greater threat. By the way, in the overall TWD universe timeline, where is the CRM by S3 of Dead City? Even if its the restructured, post-General Beale version, you'd think New Babylon or the others would've been contacted by the CRM by now....
I won't ask who, because i am not into spoilers....but can you say what episode? these 2 have been a slogIts just not "A" material yet. That said, I believe fans are expecting their investment to rise considerably when a certain someone returns to TWD franchise in this season...
The Commonwealth became stronger in the end... "happily ever after"In theory, her ideas should work, just as The Commonwealth did for some time...before our heroes were responsible for transforming it into a far weaker organization.
I am NOT hopeful that they will be anyone important or interesting.Nope, and as noted above, the only twist would be the actual antagonists being another group, instead of the "spear people". Hopefully, its not a round 2 of New Babylon members.
The ending of The Ones Who Live literally shows helicopters being deployed across the US on humanitarian missions. Since the current season of Dead City does in fact take place after TOWL, it'll be very odd indeed if the CRM doesn't take notice of a lit up Statue of Liberty. They probably aren't going out of Philadelphia now for a while.
