The Voice UK

well, i hope no one's still calling the coaches boring after tonight. Will was right though, Aleks was so safe and middle of the road it was unreal. Danny's guys were all much poorer than Bo or any of Jessie's team. and i agree, it was a bit lame Max coming out and singing with the video 'backing' of himself after Tyler did it.

I noticed Becky swear too. and i think she cocked up the end. shame because i actually enjoyed her this week.

and i can't believe Reggie made that crack about Cassius' height next to Holly!

Well once it was down to Danny's choice I think we all knew who he'd choose didn't we

Oh well all on the viewers next week.

I was chuffed Bo got through, and not just cos I voted for her! I finally realised who she reminds me of (or rather who her voice reminds me of) which is Alanis Morrisette.

No problem with Vince getting through, I can't stop thinking about him as a camp Billy Idol now though, and I'm glad Becks got through.

I think the judges were right re Aleks, but I do think they maybe shoulda toned it down slightly given he's just 17--I think Tom made a good point re him and Becky.

All on the public vote next week so I'm hoping Max won't be in the final!

Liked both Miss Willoghby's outfits this weekend as well

Just as happened with The German version the raitings went down rapidly after the blind auditions.

indeed, i was SO not shocked.

i was chuffed as well, but didn't vote.

No problem with Vince getting through,... and I'm glad Becks got through.

i was glad Vince went through, but i thought Toni should have. i knew though as soon as Jessie said she was making the decision based on her role as a coach, after her comment about not knowing how to coach Toni, that she was picking Becky.

I think the judges were right re Aleks, but I do think they maybe shoulda toned it down slightly given he's just 17--I think Tom made a good point re him and Becky.

yeah, Tom was very right. 17 is not the age for an upcoming star (alledgedly) to be 'relaxing'. not unless you're fricking Charlotte Church or something singing from the age of, like, 12 or something.

werd. :bolian:

So we had semi final night yesterday and probably the best Live show since the first battle rounds IMO. However I have MAJOR ISSUES with the Voice that might put me off watching next year and thats mainly down to the fact the format still pits team members against each other and not against EVERYONE...

Its the semi final, it should be the top 4 votes and NOT top 1 from each team because then your not getting the best 4 singers into the final. If a judge goes into the final with no singers TOUGH LUCK. There are other format changes I would like to see but will do them in another post later. Personally based off that semi final I think these 4 will make it to the FINAL...

Leanne (I love Ruth but dam Leanne out did her for once)
Jazz
Bo
Becky

Wow, so the two singers I've been following since day one are in the final! Hurrah!

Have to say I was surprised Tyler got through, even though I wanted him to. Guess a lot of people did actually agree with Danny, Jaz is a great singer, but given Wil keeps complaining that Danny's singers go with safe choices I don't think Jazz has ever been stretched.

I figured Vince would beat Becky, ideally I'd have liked to see both of them get through. Ruth vs. Leanne was, for me, the one I couldn't call, again in another time and place they'd both be in the final.

So. Bo, Vince, Leanne, Tyler...

Bo for me...

Jax, I agree by the way, it might have been fairer to have them all fighting each other this time. The format def needs tinkering but it has been better the last few weeks.

Oh and I have to say, Cheryl what a waste of space...

Kylie on the other hand

the only one i didn't call was Ruth/Leanne because i didn't care either way.

i dunno how much tinkering they can do when it's a format bought from Dutch TV.

Surprised me : Becky, Ruth and Jaz were my choices for the final.

At least Bo got through - she's head and shoulders better than the others - the whole package...

Yeah she really is. The only think I'm not sure of is whether she writes her own stuff, but frankly that'd just be a nice to have, she has everything else.

Jazz & Ruth gone...can't say I care now who wins, I won't watch it live but will watch via I Player in that case so I can skip stuff.

I don't think it actually matters who wins from this point, although in some respects I hope Leanne wins, simply because she's the least marketable of the four. That said I've been supporting Bo and Tyler all the way through.

I suspect someone who doesn't win, maybe even someone who's already gone, might end up having the more succesful career than the eventual winner anyway, isn't that how it usually goes with X-Factor?

I like Leanne, she has very nuanced control over her voice and yet still has a lot of power. That's a very rare combo. Sadly I doubt she'll win regardless of how well she sings.

Will's already said he wants to work with several of the contestants (Jay for one) besides his final five, so i wouldn't be surprised if several of them wind up releasing singles and/or albums, even if they don't become mega-stars selling out stadia.

Leanne wins and good for her, she deserved it after that stunning semi final n final performances. Good news for BBC that the final ratings rebounded to around 7.2 million but the finals later this week will push that up (it peaked at 8.7 million for the final few minutes).

The great British public again (predictably) go for whoever has the biggest voice, not who is most talented / original.

Never mind, Bo will have a career...

If you don't think Leanne is talented you need to open your ears more :p

She is indeed talented, but no more so than theaverage X-Factor winner. Bo's a bit different.

my sister called Leanne winning a "win for bland, middle-of-the-roadness" and claimed she was nowt more than a cabaret singer.

she really wanted Bo to win.

personally, i think i would've preferred Bo or Vince to win, but i like Leanne too. Leanne reminds me of Shirley Bassy, i tihnk EON could do a lot worse than getting her to do a Bond theme...

oh, and OMG, Holly Willobooby!!!

Yes I liked Holly's bondage outfit...

Well given the two I've been rooting for the whole way through made it to the final three, it was obvious the one I wasn't rooting for would win :)

Like I've said though, I doubt it matters really, and in many respects I'm glad Leanne's won, if only cos at least she will get some success now. I still think in a couple of years time she'll be on cruise ships but Bo(and probably Tyler) will still be releasing albums (probably Vince too).

Of the final four Leanne is the blandest, she doesn't have a look, or a style. She can sing but then they all can (in fact 99% of the people in this can sing).

Good luck to her though.
