Nitpicking: about 30 seconds too long, and hopefully Romijn is second-billed or co-billed with Peck.

I do love the official logo and hope the real intro is something as nice as this.

It's possible Romijin might get the and/with treatment. Hers is still the most weighty name of the bunch.

Most people only know Mount from the time Pike and Uhura freed Britney.

Even if they don't use the TOS theme, the sting will probably be in there somewhere.

Gene Roddenberry should get the creator or co-creator credit. While this is technically a spin-off of Discovery (so Kurtzman and someone else (maybe Goldsman) will get co-creator credit), it is also based on a pilot episode created by Roddenberry.

Whether he should or shouldn't get Co-Creator credit on SNW, I'm fairly certain Gene will get his standard "Based Upon "Star Trek" Created By Gene Roddenberry" credit that he received on DS9, VOY,ENT, DSC, LDS, and the Harve Bennett-era films.

And you can add PRO to that list as well, as its theme credits sequence has the same “Based Upon…” credit to Gene, just before listing the Hagemans as the series creators.

Perhaps a "Created by Gene Roddenberry" followed by a "Developed by..." would be appropriate this time, yes. We'll see.

I doubt they're going to change what they've been doing for the last 35 years. Everything is based upon Star Trek as created by Gene Roddenberry. So he is getting credit and has been for everything spin-offI. since TOS.

"Based Upon..." is the only credit necessary.

Like how it was for Earth: Final Conflict and Andromeda.

I think a "Created by Gene Roddenberry" credit is absolutely appropriate, as he did create this series. The setting (USS Enterprise), main characters (Pike, Una, Spock... and also Chapel, Ortegas, Uhura, M'Benga), and general background were all developed by Gene Roddenberry in 1964 or thereabouts.

So why did the Enterprise deteriorate so severely to look so primitive in TOS? The answer has been in front of us all along. The Federation has no money. They don't use money. So starship build quality depends solely on supply issues, and Starfleet was low on supplies by the time Kirk took command and his refit was bare minimum. :guffaw:

TOS is a dramatic recreation of Kirk's logs.

I'm sure that other than Pike, Una (who was named thus by others, later) and Spock, the SNW series bible is somewhat different to the one Gene created in 1963 or thereabouts. So I'd guess a "based on..." like everything else these days.

Eh, it’s a TV show. Both versions represent the top of the line technology of the fictional future they exist in as seen through the lens of the time period they were created in. No need to do backflips.

Off topic but it took me a few seconds to realize your new profile picture was Worf infected with the Augment virus (i.e. Michael Dorn photoshopped onto a TOS Klingon uniform). :klingon:
