Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

One thing I do like about the SNW Enterprise is the grill nacelle end caps. I always preferred that version over the 'bulbs' and thought it was strange that latter was picked over the former.
Much prefer the grilled on Pike's ship, yeah.

It’s new to me. Checking the Memory Alpha page history I find this:
02:43, 28 February 2022Hunter12396 talk contribs‎ 2,076 bytes +19‎ Her registry can just barely be made out in the shot where she turns around the Enterprise
Can barely make it out here. It does appear to be 1427 to me,

After this project, my main disappointment with the design is limited to the overfamiliarty of some of the redesign - the infamous nacelle pylons - and the way it's being rendered. I've come to like the overall design and many of the details.

Overall, the design of the Enterprise in this series reminds me of one that was on the cover of a 1980's/1990's Simon & Schuster PC game, where it looked like they took parts of the refit and TOS ships and mixed them together.

I was hoping to get a second version of the Discovery Enterprise from SNW and was thinking about getting the DS-9 station.
Guess that's gone by the wayside now. :(
I was looking forward to a SNW version as well, and a Galileo as I really like the new shuttlecraft design.

I like the strangeness of the ball. Makes you wonder how the nacelles work. What they actually do.
I remember some speculation that the bulbs at the end of nacelles aided in the compression and expansion of space around the vessel while at warp.

Yeah the saucer commanded by JJ Adams, never had a name or if it did it was never mentioned. It was always referred to as United Planets Cruiser C57D .
I've always wanted to see a show based on the film, set on the C57D. Never could figure out what it would be called. "Forbidden Planet" is a bit limiting, but with out it you lose the connection to the film.

I was checking out some Screencaps of the Enterprise, as one does, and I noticed something from "The Serene Squall".

I've never noticed those red lights above the shuttered bridge window. I don't think we've seen those in any other episodes. Wonder what their purpose is suppose to be?

On another note... my God, she's a beautiful ship!

Agreed. Meanwhile, looking for relevant imagery...

The big model they showed in Chicago back in April doesn't seem to have anything that could be responsible for those lights. Assuming this model was based on the actual cgi files, makes those lights even more a mystery.

Navigation lights for dummies - "Let's make the green one on the starboard side red too. Keeps it simple and we need less spares..."

You can see a green one on the saucer and starboard nacelle in that picture. The red port ones are missing (or just blinked in the screencap)

I don't think they're nav lights, maybe just warning light idk.

Also look at the front of the bridge dome, there's no window, there seems to be a hull panel of the same shape in the spot where it should be.

Then look at the Chicago model posted above.

There is panel laying in the opening that looks like it could flip up and close the hole.

Or I'm just over thinking this and this is a low detail model with the bridge interior removed that wasn't meant to be seen that close.
