I predict that Eaglemoss will do a treatment on Archer, along with all the other ships we see in the new series. It is, after all, their bread and butter. Will we ever get full specs on the Archer?
In show? Probably not. Will we ever get full specs on the Archer?
They may get the stats completey wrong though, like they have with the Kelvin fleet and the Cerritos.I predict that Eaglemoss will do a treatment on Archer, along with all the other ships we see in the new series. It is, after all, their bread and butter.
Maybe it was named after Henry Archer. So Archer was the founder of the Federation and a president of it at some point, and gets a three-person scout named after him by Starfleet?![]()
The Hermes class looks amazing, but its apparent size makes no sense for a crew of only 3 people. Since it's called the Archer and has such a small crew, I'm mentally replacing the image of the Hermes class with the Archer-class scouts from the Star Trek: Vanguard novels.![]()
Actually, on further reflection (and as @BillJ aptly notes) Starfleet isn't the only part of Archer's legacy, as he was credited with the founding of the Federation and one of it's presidents. So the Federation should be giving him accolades, not Starfleet.Maybe it was named after Henry Archer.![]()
The Archer wasn’t given a class name, was it?

I don't either, which is why the USS ARCHER strikes me as enough of an acknowledgement of those accomplishments. Any other accolades or memorials would come from the Federation government rather than one part of it.Oh I dunno. I don't see how Starfleet commissioning the USS Jonathan Archer is any different from the U.S. Navy commissioning the USS George Washington or the German Navy commissioning the FGS Konrad Adenauer.
It’s just speculation based on the shape. It wasn’t given a class name in the episodeshrugs* I'm going by what Memory Alpha called it.

We're in agreement.Well, I'm not entirely sure I follow what you're saying here, but suffice it to say that I don't see the issue with Starfleet commissioning a USS Archer or a USS Jonathan Archer alongside the Federation government honoring Archer in other ways.
Looks like two spikes, typical of Disco deflectorsHow do you know that's the deflector? It's just the rectangular opening, it could also be the shuttlebay.
Ohh I thought they meant the front centre, not the bottom.Looks like two spikes, typical of Disco deflectors
So small that they only had tranya on board for rations.
