Got it. If it was mentioned up-thread, I guess I must have missed it. I still prefer straight pylons, or maybe canted out a little bit with a slight curve, but the curved-out look does look a bit better in this context.
It calls its the Bellerophon class.
According to the magazine, the name Bellerophon class also appears on the ship's dedication plaques in the episodes themselves.
I guess we can informally call it the Bellerophon I class when needing to differentiate from the 25th century Bellerophon-class long-range science vessel.

Looks like we'll be getting plenty of Starship action in the coming season.
From what I can tell, they've upgraded the Enterprise model slightly by adding more small details, especially around the Deflector dish. Plus we'll be getting some scenes with her working in tandem with The Farragut. That, and lots of action against the Gorn, plus a D7/K'tinga. Can't wait!

It’s a timeless design. Jefferies knew what he was doing when he came up with it. After all this time, they always go back to that one.

I still hate that they "rounded" the neck and made it bigger on the bottom, like on the JJprise, back in season 2.
Especially since they didn't change the opening titles, where we still see the old, angular, TMP-like version.
It just doesn't fit with the rest of the blocky aesthetics - but more importantly it's just an unnecessary change (instead of "more detailing"). But well, having different Enterprise models between shots on the same episode is an old TOS tradition...
It's already weirdly TV that they only had Pike promoted for one episode. It's not 1998 anymore, it's not format-shattering for a character to get a promotion. I remember when the BSG remake promoted a bunch of characters in the middle of season 2, that was almost more shocking than anything else that happened. "He can't be an admiral! He's "Commander Adama!" That's been his full name for almost thirty years!"
Well, it sort of is. A Fleet Captain is the captain of, well, a fleet. There'd need to be a bunch more ships following Pike around, which means more sets and more actors, not to mention that the exploration of strange new worlds (what the show is allegedly about) isn't done by fleets.
