That's not a cheap set, and it's the kind of set whose cost you amortize across an entire series. It's going to get used, and I would not be surprised if Gatwa has a bottle episode almost entirely on that set
Adding personal touches and colour to it, I hope. Sooooooo bland!
All that running around - reminded me of the shuttlecraft trips round starships in spacedock in Trek. Ooo, look at the pretty thing we've built for you to drool over, nerds.
Plus Roman Candles for the obvious Donna 'gag' with the cup and saucer. Rolls eyes.

Really fun episode. Don't know how anyone can criticize it. I dropped out for some of the 13th era a few years back and I kinda feel guilty for heaping the praise on 14 as if Doctor Who is back again... Jodie was always great and she would have been amazing if RTD had been in charge as clearly demonstrated by this episode. Love Rose Noble, hope we will see her return sometime in the 15th era as a companion. Loved the scene of just "letting it go". Donna was always at her best when she put the Doctor in his place.

I did have issues with the sound too btw.

The FX budget certainly got a boost
That and the passage of time. They can do more for less.

Fun episode, really enjoyable. And at the risk of sounding like I'm denigrating something else prop this up, I got to say this is something that someone like Terry Matalas should watch to see how you can nostalgia and revisiting the past correctly.
Ha?

According to David, the running around was proposed on the day, it wasn't planned in advance.

All the circles can be coloured individually, so they can do unique things with them.

So, the good Meep, was it entirely a practical puppet? The evil Meep looked like it was done with CGI.
It was both. Practical overlayed with CG where needed.

Thanks to ranting in the Brit o’ clock thread I wasn’t surprised by the twist, but also because Disney pulled it off so many times it’s hardly a surprise anymore
Disney didn't write the episode.

Given that we saw the console room catch on fire, thinking that it might be a one-and-done thing isn't unreasonable.
David Tennant said he watched Ncuti Gatwa film on the set.

Could Donna not have simply let the Time Lord metacrisis brain stuff go back in 2008? Or did it require the power of two humans to pull off?

There’s a guy on Twitter complaining that while he didn’t have a problem with there being a disabled character on the show, it wasn’t believable that she could cross her legs.
That's the learning that can come when not using the sledgehammer to deliver the message.

Those are some really nice pics of that pair.

A couple of dumb observations

- The TARDIS has RGB lighting now, kewl?

- Soldiers of the Psychedelic Sun definitely has that RTD ring to it, made me smile

Having given up on this show during the first Whittaker series, I'm pleasantly surprised at how good this was. It really feels like the show is "back". I'll keep watching if the show's quality can keep up like this. Loved the new console room- very "Tomorrowland" (a film I happen to love) Just wish Tennant and Tate could be around longer.

The colour of the set is determined by coloured lights.

The TARDIS will use different light features for each Doctor?

It's blue for Tenant.

Maybe it will be green for Gatwa?

That was good. Nice followup and closure for Donna. RREEALLY REALLY. Hope to see Bernard one more time.
Oh. That new tardis is room cost ALOT it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Though I so miss Capaldi's version.
Coudnt stand the Salmon desktop theme

That was pretty good. I gave it a “B”.

I loved seeing Tennant (“my Doctor”) back in action with Donna.

A couple of minor quibbles: the “letting go” scene seemed kind of hokey. A coffee machine? And coffee would do that much to the TARDIS? Hmmm…

Also, particularly during the fight at Donna’s house, it was so dark (not thematically, literally) it was hard to tell what was going on.

Also, you just knew the Meep was the bad guy about two seconds in.

Overall quite enjoyable.
