Really enjoyed it, although i generally liked the previous era this just felt like a step up in terms of energy and impact.

Interesting no next time trailer, they do seem to be keeping the next episode very much under wraps

Apparently the Rose character is supposed to be transgender. I didn’t get that at all. Shows how oblivious I am.

The prick kids from her school were calling out to her with a boy's name.

Fairly obvious.

I could go with screamingly obvious.

But let's be forgiving that it's still not something that everyone picks up on right away.

Like me, saying "her" when Rose does mention "non-binary". We don't know Rose's pronouns yet.

It was a bit mean of them and Donna to assume that just because the Doctor is "male-presenting" at the moment, they wouldn't understand a feminine perspective anymore.

Hell, the Doctor may not be limited to two genders to be fluid between.

Oh, you RTDs and your quaint little boxes.

The actress is trans as well, she’s on the show Heartstopper (If you don’t know it’s a TV Show big with queer kids around 12-14). I’m pretty sure the rebranding and the new actors (ie Ncuti, Yasmin Finney, Nicola Coughlan etc) is to reach out to a younger audience (ie older kids and teens) and the bringing back of Catherine and Tennant for the older fans. Dr Who since 2005 has always had queer characters and the actress I think prefers trans people to play trans roles as well as for awareness and things <3

Ahhhh I can’t believe it’s actually happening, Donna and Ten got me into Dr Who it’s so nice to see them back:hugegrin:

Donna is back; Ten is not.

Fourteen and Ten are not the same incarnation despite appearing physically identical and behaving nearly the same.

I honestly don't have any idea how you could possibly not have realized this. The episode spells it out about as clearly as possible outside of somebody flat-out saying "Rose is trans", and even offers an explanation for her trans-ness (which I'm afraid is going to be used as a way to diminish the character).
