The Shrinking Hirogen...

The producers didn't think we'd notice
Exactly!
That was always the producers way to handle things that didn't work as expected.
In this case, they started with tall actors as Hirogen. Then for some reason that changed, maybe they couldn't persuade any tall actors to participate. So they just kept on going with smaller guys because "the viewers won't notice".

Good work!

Feel free to visit The Kes Website and the page Voyager maps which are re-edited maps from the book Star Charts. I've taken the liberty to correct a few errors and added certain planets mentioned in the Voyager books.

So far I've only done the first three years of Voyager's journey (the Kes years, since this is a Kes site after all) but I have plans to upload maps from the later seasons as well. There are some thing to be sorted out there and time is something I don't have too much of right now. But we'll see what I can come up with.

Whether it was the writers or the producers, some Voyager higher-up or other clearly had little regard for the viewers' intelligence.

Well, they didn't seem to have much problem finding short guys to play the Ferengi at any rate. With people getting taller and taller (according to statistics) one would think that would be more challenging than finding tall people.
Well, the male cast mains aren't short; they're about all 5'10 or above. So, to get tall Hirogen, merely moderately tall doesn't cut it...

Awesome.

In fact I am a little pissed off I had not known of this site earlier and seen all those maps before, as it would have made my job easier.
I have seen the maps before but not in this quality or size

Will you be merging them to form one big map ?
Looking forward to seeing more......off to check out the rest of the site,

btw....here is one of a few kes pics I did a while back

I like that picture. I have in on my screensaver! :techman:

As for the maps, it's actually maps from the book Star Charts By Geoffrey Mandel which was released in 2002. I scanned them and did some remakes on some of the maps because they didn't have certain objects in right order for Voyager's journey and some objects were also missing.

I also added some stars and objects from the Voyager books which I have managed to include in a Voyager Timeline which also can be found on the website.

As for the maps, from the beginning I didn't dare to publish the scanned and remade maps because of possible copyright problems so I made some simpler maps with only Voyager's route and the objects they passed.

But when I found other published pictures on the net from the Star Charts book, I took the liberty last year to publish these remade Star Charts on the website. I have also tried to get in touch with Geoffrey Mandel to ask for permission to use them but I haven't been successful in that attempt. If any objections would be made, then I will change back to the simpler maps to avoid copyright problems. But i hope that it won't be any problems since other pictures from the book are already published and I'm not making any money at all on this.

As for merging those maps into one big one, I don't think I will do that. It would be a gigantic file which would take long time to upload, even with a good Internet connection.

And as I wrote in a previous post, I have plans to add maps from seasons 4-7 as well and in that case the picture file would be even bigger.

I also consider renaming the site to The Kes and Voyager Website because it might be easier to find it in the search engines on the net. Not to mention that the site isn't only about Kes but about other Voyager items as well.

I am aware of the book and the maps, used them for my own created maps, but never saw the delta quadrant ones in that quality.
I was working of this map from the same book .

Thanks for nice comments. Obviously I've managed to come up with something good.

Without being too big-headed, I'm quite proud over The Kes Website. It has developed to something more, better and bigger than I had planned from the beginning.

However, I might change the name to The Kes and Voyager Website because it's not only about Kes but about the whole ship and crew as well.

Now, if I just get more time to write more stories in the coming future..................
