Spoilers The Ships of Lower Decks

This is like arguing that you can't get bruised by a gunshot whilst wearing kevlar.
More like I was having a memory problem and thinking the shields were still up when the torpedo blasts through the hull.

And, even upon rewatch, the damage still seems extreme even with the shields up. So, I still think it is needs of the plot as to what will actually protect a ship.

Would have been HILLARIOUS if when the bridge window cracks open that Becky says " WHY IS THERE A WINDOW ON THE BRIDGE... THIS IS STUPID..... :shifty:

Every time I see someone complaining about bridge windows I scratch my head at the thought that every enterprise always had one, just not in the front.

Not a huge fan of the look of it, but safety-wise it makes zero difference to have a window in the front wall or a transparent dome

Even "The Expanse" got it right, their bridges are hidden near the center of the ship with lots of armor around it and extra security to slow down boarding parties.

No Windows, all computer controlled displays.

But that applies to StarFleet / Gene Roddenberry's idea of putting the bridge on top which many folks don't agree with.

You know what I want to put on top or bottom of the Saucer with large windows that expand from floor to ceiling to see out into space?

The Mess Hall on the Dorsal side of the Saucer

The Bar/Cafe on the Ventral side of the Saucer

Other than those two things, I wouldn't put the Bridge / CNC anywhere near being exposed.

NuBSG put the CIC in the center of the head (as opposed to on top and exposed like in TOS) and sickbay in the middle of the main body, IIRC.

NuBSG also had a little head popping out of the main body like a caterpillar's bum.

StarFleet's design Aesthetic is the Saucer of various shapes.

Well to me, a bridge window completely negates the end battle in TWOK.. As a window can't be interfered with, and Khan could see.. So.. CANNON VIOLATION!
I know it's petty.. But hey :nyah:
