Spoilers The Ships of Lower Decks

Personally I really loved the Archimedes, it makes sense as a refit Excelsior.

*EDIT* Well I should really pay more attention. Apparently it's a whole new class. I still love it.

Has an official size been given yet?

Bigly big! The vastly big bigness of the warpy thing...

Phill Jupitus: How big is it?
Stephen Fry: Vast, is the answer.
Phill Jupitus: Thanks for that. How big is it? [mimicking Stephen] Oh, very. I find to quantify its bigness would be doing it a disservice! Bigly big! The vastly big bigness of the dripping thing!

My headcanon is that the Obena class might be a new design intended to make use of Starfleet's likely ubiquitous dry docks, Remmler arrays, and other facilities intended to service the very common Excelsior class ships of the line. If they're broadly the same size. If the Obena is much larger then all bets are off I guess.

The Obena looks larger. It’s bigger than the Cerritos which itself is 90 meters longer than the Excelsior.

Also Mike said it was bigger than the excelsior.

The show, and others, do well in showing "different sizes of Excelsior", that is, reuses of the saucer shape and certain details that create a family feel. The universe can well accommodate a "properly large Excelsior" in the form of the Obena, just like it accommodates "small Excelsiors" like the Centaur or the Curry. We also see a "small Sovereign" in the form of the Nova.

But there's plenty of room at the bottom for other things LDS so far has failed to show. How about a "small Galaxy"? The only time we saw those was "BoBW", with the half-scale kitbashes; some of those really warrant a revisit. Things like California or Parliament or Akira are Galaxy'ish enough, but all in the category of "large" or "very large"...

I want to see another Curry-type beastie, like the one from DS9's "A Time to Stand".

With that forward slung secondary hull, I've often suspected that the Curry is a transport ship for Starfleet Marines - it could leave the forward section behind as a troop barracks when it gets its Marines where they need to go.
