This was really exceptional.

Great writing. Great music. Even the direction was outstanding. This Brannon Braga guy should be doing Star Trek.

I joined at the end of the Berman and Braga reign but I have always liked Braga. He’s really honest and has written many good episodes.

I always thought that Braga might have brought something to the X-Files.

Problem with "STD episode 9 is really good" is that only one or two of the episodes stand alone. It's all part of their godforsaken arc.

Everyone's favorite Star Trek cover band covers Where None Have Gone Before/If Wishes Were Horses and does a decent job.

Their covers are okay, but I think it's about the part of the show they should switch over to original material.

What exactly would be original? What could they really do that Star Trek hasn't done in one of its seven hundred-plus hours? It is a space exploration show, they are going to be covering a lot of the same ground.

All I care about is that the show is massively entertaining with great characters and has heart. It is something that hasn't gotten sucked into the grimdark black hole that even Star Trek couldn't escape.

DSC S1E9 is well worth the time, Bill, and I say this as someone who has been enjoying The Orville over DSC.

I'll watch it eventually. But was never a fan of the small universe syndrome they are selling, and the marble mouthed Klingons.

It isn't just doing premises that have already been done on Star Trek, it's doing it in nearly the exact same way. Sure, at the end they made it into the Psych test from Coming of Age instead of having it be aliens taking the form of people's fears.

It's entertaining, but only a little entertaining. The most entertaining episode IMO has been their least derivative one, the one with Finn and Isaac stranded on the planet.
