OK, finally saw the last two episodes.


So....they pulled a "Supernatural." Although, I doubt it will be as fun in this version.

i guess I'll have to reserve my judgement until season 3 --assuming there is one. I really wish we'd been given more time with BBA & the kids.

I thought season 2 was fantastic, I was really satisfied with how all angles of the storyline wrapped up. Even that crazy stuff with the house all came together.

Interesting thing about Season One was that it left doubt as to whether she was crazy or not. I knew going into Season Two that they couldn't really play that angle anymore, so they really had not choice but to lean into the crazy. Of course, I love that they did that, but then again, my Confusion Tolerance regarding television is off the chart.

I got the impression that the "possessed" person doesn't die, but are either temporarily pushed aside or cohabit with the traveler depending on the skill and experience they have. It's not murder, but definitely a violation.

Hence The OA being able to bring Nina back to the fore and trigger the same process with Homer, which is what Elodie teaches her and Hap cannot understand. (I had actually thought Elodie used the robots in her apartment to leave her current body and called the ambulance to save her "host" but as she turns up later it seems not)

I don't think the issue is glossed over, rather the characters themselves choose not to confront it,

I didn't think the person being jumped into died either. At one point I thought that they switched bodies, so OA switched to Nina's body and Nina into OA's body, so...

it's actually Nina that was shot at the end of season 1 and died. Of course then near the end of season 2, Nina and OA were merged so that can't be it.

Haven't clicked the spoiler (I have one episode left in season 2) but it was made very clear by the crestwood 5 and her parents that Prairie died in the dimension of Season 1.

Well Prairie still seems to be able to access Nina's memories, like knowing the passcode by reflex, and it looks like at the end of 2-7 she was able to reconnect with Nina and integrate with her, like Elodie was describing in terms of her travels. It seems like Hap's antiquated methods are the only one that requires death of the vessel, although the mystery with the house and the people in comas implies that they aren't swapped when the soul leaps out. I don't think anyone was swapped into the Earth 1 bodies after the leap out, and do not believe they were inhabited vessels that died in the field (or in the ambulance) but rather empty shells.

This show definitely has a Twin Peaks vibe to it this year.

Since the plan was a five season arc, a 2-hour movie would not have been sufficient to wrap the series up, and thus the cast has been released from their contracts.
