I have always liked it, but rewatching it recently with my wife made me love it more. It truly is an ensemble piece for them, and truly shows the brotherhood and sense of family this crew has for each other.

And A LOT of the ships, and the starbase, that get used countless times in the franchise make their debut here.

I'll vote for The Search For Spock. While it's not my second favourite film of the franchise, I really enjoy it as a continuation of the previous film. Stealing the Enterprise and the destruction of the Enterprise are great sequences.

I'll probably be lonely with this pick, but "Star Trek Beyond" I do think is an incredible movie. For me, there's no other Trek film that understood the assignment quite so well -- it really knew how to make the ST spirit work within the constraints of a big summer movie. Trek fits the medium of television so perfectly, these movies are all fighting an uphill battle.

My next save will be far and away the best of the TNG films, "Star Trek First Contact". The Borg, after taking a pasting in "Descent", are scary again. It has a nice selection of fight scenes. And, it even pays homage to the two series still active by featuring the Defiant, the EMH, and a makeup-free Neelix.

My next choice is "The Search for Spock," which was all about the friendship and loyalty of the main cast -- loyalty most satisfyingly rewarded by the end of the film. Said main cast also got some good things to do, and we got to see a surprisingly emotional Sarek.

My vote this time will be for First Contact. With the original films, I found that they all had really good bits and all had some bits I didn't really like - very curate's egg-y. I have always liked the planetside scenes in FC, and it's nice to see some of the recurring characters from TNG. As I rewatch FC, I have found the Borg scenes have grown on me.

I mentioned in my first post there are three top-tier Trek movies for me, and they are TUC, FC, and Beyond.

Alice Krige as the Queen! So good. I remember well how outraged everyone (including me!) was when it was announced that the Borg now had a Queen, but damn did they make her work perfectly in this movie.

Truthfully, I'm glad FIRST CONTACT was saved. If I didn't rewatch ST III with my wife recently, I would have voted that instead of ST III.

Another "The Search For Spock" vote from me. This time, as well as the before, beforer, and beforerer, I'm going to pick out something @Brennyren mentioned: emotional Sarek. I thought the whole scene of Sarek's mindmeld with Kirk, with each shot getting closer and closer to them until Sarek's lips fill the screen, was - and still is - brilliant! Such a great way to show the intimacy of the meld

Glad to see First Contact saved as it is my second favourite Trek film. I was in two minds on voting for FC or The Search For Spock, they are both great in my mind. So I'll vote for Spock again for the same reasons as before.

TSFS is easily the weakest of the TOS trilogy, but I still enjoy it enough to save it.

Whilst the recast of Saavik left me feeling cold, the scene where the crew steals the Enterprise is classic. Uhura and Sulu get a lot more to do than they usually do.

Also, the visual of the gradual destruction of the Genesis planet was operatic.

My next vote is for BEYOND.

Really great movie. LIGHT YEARS better than either Abrams directed movies (which is a vastly low bar to clear, anyway... even NEMESIS was better).

Great story, great villain... and it felt like it truly had the spirit of the franchise.

It even accomplished the impossible... it made me actually feel bad for that Enterprise's destruction. It actually was a bit of a gut punch, seeing her torn apart piece by piece.

I really like Beyond. Unlike its predecessor, it tells a new story, appropriate for the new (by now, new-ish) Kelvinverse. The regular characters are well used -- special nod to Scott and the McCoy-Spock doubles act -- and the new characters are interesting. Jaylah's as good a character as I've seen on Trek. And then there are the visuals. The dismembering of the Enterprise is, as @Farscape One noted, disturbing, and everything about the Yorktown is amazing.
