Game The Most Disliked First Season Episode

I think The End Is The Beginning for me next. It was as strong as the opener, Remembrance, but we did get to see Hugh from TNG. I thought the whole idea of the ex-Borg working at the reclamation center that was in the Borg cube was a neat idea, that looked interesting.

Saving "THE EYE OF BEHOLDER" because it reminds me a bit of THE TWILIGHT ZONE episode "PEOPLE ARE ALIKE ALL OVER" with Roddy MacDowell.

"Maps And Legends" -- it was an exhilarating start! Hard to still love it knowing where it goes, but I can kind of get carried away on rewatch...

Helping out the Short Treks, I’m voting Runaway. It’s a good Tilly showcase, the alien princess is great and though the whole thing is kind of forgettable, it’s certainly not awful.

There are still a few good episodes on there. Into The Forest I Go is IMO a stunner, The Brightest Star is sweet and gives us a lot of Doug Jones, Cold Front is alright for sure and certainly The Alternative Factor will be exiting soon.

Incorrect. It will not leave soon... it will leave now.

"THE ALTERNATIVE FACTOR" is bonkers, but it had its moments. Definitely better than the Temporal Cold War nonsense of ENTERPRISE.

Whilst the execution of the Klingon War in season one of DIS was hit and miss, at least with Into The Forest I Go, it felt like it was going somewhere. The mid-season cliffhanger was fun as well.

I think both of these TAS episodes are good. I'll save "The Jihad." I love a quest story, and the ridiculous side characters in this are top notch.

I will also never forget watching it the first time, hearing Kirk's Captain's Log build up the Vedala as the oldest spacefaring race in the galaxy... and then the reveal of what that looked like.

I had to look it up to remember, but The Brightest Star featured my favourite Kelpian Saru, so it needs to survive. It was cool finding out a little more about his background. Saru's development during DIS S2 was a definite high point.

Well, at least it has those awesome orchids, and the fantastic "Justice"-esque production & costume design down on the planet. "Et In Arcadia Ego, Part 1" Terrible episode overall, though! But the rest of these I like even less.

I am going to shock myself by saving "Shockwave, Part I", which is just awful. I have nothing good to say about it. Bakula looked good with his shirt off as usual? That's all I've got. I just know if I had to watch one of these right now, that's the one I'd pick, even though I don't like anything about it. But I find those two Disco's just intolerable, and I am a Disco fan.

I think that's the issue with all the serialized Treks... we remember the seasonal story overall, but we're not quite sure what happened when, unless we watched them repeatedly.

That's exactly the problem, at least for me. It also doesn't help that none of the episodes have the titles appear on screen. I still have never understood that practice, for any show. Oddly enough, I can remember the titles for every episode of THE X-FILES, SNW, and others that are not so heavily serialized. (I know THE X-FILES draws heavily on arcs and their mythology, but it is nowhere to the degree we see now.) But do the same for DISCO, PICARD, GAME OF THRONES... and short of really epic things happening in an episode, I can't separate one from the other.

What makes it worse is that DISCO and PICARD don't give me the urge to rewatch, which just compounds the problem for me because, as you said, serialization of this magnitude requires rewatching.

- Sometimes Bakula with his shirt off will do. But Trinneer with his shirt off will garner a save from me every time! ;)

Ha ha! That's part of the reason, yes. But I actually really do enjoy it, daft as it is :)

Oh, I've just realised that the game isn't over - there are two Disco episodes left! Who's going to make the difficult choice?
