The most disappointing Trek Movie..

The bus surely wasn't major plot theme, but I understand what xortex wanted to say. It's not only the bus, it's the whole premise of this movie I do not like. But I have nothing against public transportations- I support it and use it every day.

I just want to add my support for public transportation as well. wish the U.S. invested in it more.

We're too busy investing in movies written by Mr Spock. Now I know that guy's motivation. There are no trains from N.Y. to Hollywood.

I used to ride the bus all of the time in San Francisco, until I had a problem one day with two strangers who didn't like my punk music. I don't remember much about the bus ride after that. Strange.

Good times.

Then there was the business of the Nexus ... once he found out he could exit anywhere/any time he wanted, why didn't Picard simply go back to when they first picked up Soron at the Armagosa Array? "Ah, welcome aboard the Enterprise, Doctor Soron. Mr. Worf here will show you to your cell in the brig while we straighten out your affair with the Romulans and the Duras sisters. Oh, and we'll also be picking up your equipment on Veridian III as evidence." Or even earlier so he could buy his brother smoke detectors for Christmas.

I about burst a lung laughing at this. So, true, sir! Thank you!

the "plot hole" with Picard's choice of time to exit the Nexus is brought up a lot, but it's no more or less sill than other time travel plot holes, like why the Borg chose to come to Earth then time travel back to 2063, rather than do it undetected in the Delta Quadrant, then travel to Earth undetected in 2063.

time travel plots when characters have control over the time travel almost inevitably bring plot holes with them.

'Plato's Stepchildren' wasn't meant to be a comedy at all but sadistic and cruel and evil and Shatner and Nimoy didn't intend to make it funny but deadly serious as Permen was going to kill them after kirk's littl kiss with Uhura and McCoy signed on.

I don't want to see myself get on a bus, why would I want to see Kirk and Spock do it? Unless you think the core message of Trek is getting on a bus, which it might be to some. I think it is more about altruism, hope and beauty set in a science fiction setting and story and not about those things being about the franchise itself and reserved for the writers/actors, their children and bank acct's etc. They never took a bus in their life. 18 yrs of Berman. Now 18 yrs of JJ. I can't think of two more shallow people except for the movies written by Kirk and Spock.

Wait... a reason you dislike TVH is because Kirk and Spock ride a BUS?

When I first read your comment, I thought "get on a bus" was some kind of euphemism you were trying to use. Hit me later you were literally talking about them getting on a bus!

One of the best scenes from that movie was on that bus!

Besides, what would you rather have seen them do... carjack someone, with Spock delivering a neck pinch and the two of them dumping the driver in an alley?

TOS wasn't a comedy, neither should the movies have been. Neither is it tits in space but I am willing to make some concessions considering that that was Fred Freiberger's idea of it third season. Even Freiberger didn't like TWT as well he shouldn't.

They certainly do when lazy writers force intelligent characters to make stupid mistakes for the sake of unnecessary action scenes.

Oh, and you're very welcome, Jayrath. I hope your lung is healing nicely.

I hope I look as good as she did when I'm that age! And that's serious. That took a lot of guts to do that!

actors and actresses tend to have a lot of self-confidence and ego, so it's not the same as imagining random off the street person doing that kind of thing.

so not as much guts as you'd think.
