Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

Hm, I really didn't care much about Mando this week.
It really didn't move the plot forward like last week.
If it wasn't for a final scene of the episode, I'd almost consider it skip-able for future re-watches.

It was nice to see some Pit Droids again though.

Is it a spoiler or are you spitballing? BIG fucking difference.
everyone here just hates me. but it's either him or someone in his.. armor. Could be wrong but I doubt it. And guess what.. there are facebook groups are talking about how it's him.. if anyone else.. anyone of those clowns proposed that it was him.. and not me.. you would not jump down their throats. Get a life and leave me the hell alone

YOU are the one that called it a spoiler.......Fragile much? Spoiler implied you KNOW something. They kept The Child a secret, so I doubt they would telegraph such a big reveal.......I may be wrong. COULD be him but if I posted a SPOILER that it was Lando or Han I would not be shocked if someone ASKED me about it. FWIW I am not in 20 Facebook groups dedicated to the show, just here.

EDIT: nobody jumped down your throat, I ASKED you to clarify.

Disagreeing with someone does not indicate hating someone. I, for one, just am not 100% convinced it’s him. I saw some boots and a cape. There are a lot of characters in Star Wars with boots and capes. Could it be? Sure. But it didn’t make me automatically think it was Fett. I just don’t know why we need to go back to that well again.

For the record: while I totally buy Boba probably got out of the Pit of Carkoon, I'm not sure how I feel about him appearing on the show. I kinda prefer not, but if he is I think Favreau & Fillon have earned the benefit of the doubt. Indeed, the latter helped tell the bulk of Boba's actual story on TCW, so I have no fear that this will be the boring EU version of the character.

Now at first blush, I just assumed that guy at the end was just yet another unnamed hunter on the trail, or maybe Greef Karga. However, going back and taking another look & listen we do indeed hear the spurs foley. But I think what clinches it for me was the beeping sound effect which also crops up right here. So yeah, that's probably Boba.

I know I'm getting WAY ahead of myself, but I'm kinda curious if they're going that way, if they'd use Logan or Morrison. I kinda hope it's Logan even if his voice sounds nothing like Morrison, since being in his early 30's he's actually much closer to the right age than Morrison, who's pushing 60 (Boba would be about 41), and I dare say he's closer in terms of build to Jeremy Bulloch too. Maybe they can do a thing like they did with Ray Park & Sam Witwer by having Temuera Morrison loop all of Boba's dialogue?

I have to face the facts now that this show just isn't for me. I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't this.....(It's also not the show that was advertised, which largely focused on the Mandalorian going up against a bunch of post-Imperial types, putting the Client and Moff Gideon front and center, the latter of which has still yet to appear with only 3 episodes left.)

It's just a bunch of extremely small-scale, small stakes vignettes about a still fairly underdeveloped character just bumming about the galaxy, doing very little of anything of consequence. Cute Baby Yoda will only get you so far.

Five episodes in now and I'm just seriously bored. I honestly don't know what the makes of this show think is interesting here, except, as oft discussed, doing WESTERN, WESTERN, WESTERN, WESTERN tropes in the SW universe. There's just no other thought put into anything, no other raison d'etre for this show, no vision and really no point.

This is on its way to becoming my least enjoyed bit of SW storytelling in the Disney era. I mean, it's not actively bad, per se, like Solo or parts of TFA were. But it's getting closer.

I for one enjoyed the episode very much. Was Tatooine and Mos Eisley and the cantina pure fanwank? Absolutely. Was it well done? Hell yes!

These are established locations in the the Outer Rim, where Mando operates. Yes, they have significance to Star Wars fans, but none to Mando. He doesn't care that the cantina is where Luke and Obi Wan met Han and Chewie for the first time. He doesn't care that the table where the young bounty hunter sits is where Han shot Greedo. He's just here out of necessity due to his circumstances.

I'll agree with detractors who hope that the mystery figure at the end isn't Boba Fett. But if it is, I trust Favreau and Co. to do the character justice and make him relevant to the story. I'm enjoying seeing the wider Star Wars galaxy in this series (at least the Outer Rim) but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate an occasional visit to old stomping grounds.

I get behind this.........I'm just enjoying the ride.

As fan servicy as it was, the revisit of Mos Eisley was actually interesting because of what's changed as much as what's the same.

For example: no bounty hunter guild. With Jabba dead and the Empire gone, were the locals able to rise up and clear out a lot of the underworld presence? Has slavery been abolished too? The Stormtrooper helmets on spikes certainly makes it feel like there was some kind of uprising against the local garrison (which we possibly glimpsed in the RotJ celebration coda.)
Also of note is that the cantina appears to be under new management: not only are droids now allowed, but they're tending bar and so far as I could tell the droid detector was gone.

The interaction with the Tuskens was interesting since I think this is the first time outside of The old 'Kenobi' novel (which is kinda/sorta/maybe-but-not-exactly canon thanks to this) that we've seen them do anything but attack non-Tuskens on sight. Clearly Mando has spent some time on this planet before (though not enough to be very fluent in Jawa.)

One thing that jumped out at me is that a certain shot of the Mando on a Dewback seemed to be mimicking an old publicity shot from ANH, which pre-SE was the best look most of us old fans got at the dewback.

It never ceases to amaze me how many claiming to hate something appereantly still watch every single item released about it.....

Oh well....

I love this show. I don't feel the need to explain why. I adore Baby Yoda. Why? Because I do. I feel the Mandalorion is a kickass dude.
Could that be Boba? Maybe. Maybe not. How do I feel about it? I dunno, let's see what they do with it if he is and I'll do that weird thing where I judge in hindsight, after I have all the evidence. *GASP* I know, how dare I?

I'm loving it too, it's just fun. I get the feeling it's not trying to be, nor will it end up as, the next The Wire, West Wing, Breaking Bad, or whatever greatest-show-of-all-time. It's just as I say a fun enjoyable little* show in my eyes.

(* little as in it's run time and focused settings and fairly simple plotting, although it's big on great effects. Oh and cuteness :) )

Apparently.. from the other thread.. if I didn't call it a spoiler, people would complain even more.

It would be a terrible move, in my opinion.
