Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

Not necessarily.

He could be near death, saved by his repurposed droid, and now Mando will trust one droid. Or maybe the droid will go nuts that his "father" was killed and join Mando that way.
I believe wholeheartedly that IG-11 will be instrumental in how this resolves.
And the fact that I know a little about how this cliffhanger will be resolved in NO WAY diminishes how good it is. In fact it adds to it. I LOVE SW when it is SIMPLE

You seem to love Star Wars when the lead is a man. Simple as that.
No I like it when a story is simple, clean, fun and can bring out the kid in me. Since I am a man, maybe you are right. OH I'm soooo sorry.

I'm sorry I'm white! I'm sorry I'm male! I'm sorry I live here. I'm sorry that everyone else has to be pandered to to have equality..

Oh and by the way .. spoiler free :

"Abrams doesn't know the Star Wars lore..."

Literally a second later:

"There are rules in Star Wars."

I for real laughed out loud.

I mean Greef Carga is black. Cara Dune is a woman.. and she might be of a different origin idk. But other than a few nitpicks (for nerds) I have no issue with the show. It looks great, it has a clean narrative.. it has great moments of whimsy, balanced by moments of real tension..

For your own sakes, all three of you (@crookeddy @Flying Spaghetti Monster @KennyClaus ) need to go back to your corner and keep your emotions in check and remember this is simply a movie/TV show. Otherwise, you risk warnings

That's the part that doesn't make sense. People seem to accept vintage mediocrity as long as its called Star Wars. Except not in the movies. In movies it's totally unacceptable.

Only, this show isn't mediocrity. Your mileage may vary, but there really isn't any need to bring the rest of us down.

It is. If it wasn't Star Wars nobody would be watching this thing.

Art is purely subjective. No, the show is not perfect. A few of the episodes were okay at best and I really didn't like last week's episode. There are some story aspects that fall a little flat. But the overall story of Mando and The Child is pretty compelling, at least to me. I'm interested to see how it wraps up.

The story of Mando and the child can literally go on forever with no change. Mando goes to planet number 7348346374637 and takes out bounty hunter job number 7847347348364 and Yoda makes a cute noise. It's cheap storytelling.

Now, maybe that won't happen and I am jumping the gun. In which case I will obviously pretend like I loved the show all along :)

I disagree. Westerns also didn't have a lot of "plot" but the plots they had were at least serviceable, and contained real tension. I think the show is using those tropes well

There is a reason that the Western genre is on life support. And Star Trek TOS was sort of a Western in space. Firefly was very much a western in space. Mandalorian though, is a specific type of Western in space - a specific type that produced some of the best movies of all time, but just isn't made to be very repeatable.

I would suggest Hell on Wheels, starring Anson Mount. Very compelling show set in post-Civil War America.

Hell on Wheels was awesome, and along with Anson Mount, it also had Dominique McElligot, who plays Queen Maeve on The Boys, Colm Meaney and Tom Noonan.
Loved today's episode, it was great seeing Cara, and Kuiil again. The way they brought back IG-11 was unexpected, but great.
I was a little disappointed to see we aren't going to get more with Moff Gideon, but at least he did get a pretty awesome introduction here. Giancarlo Esposito is awesome, and I'm going to be really disappointed if we only get one episode with him.
I really hope Kuiil survives

Now this was a good episode. They finally took a break from the typical sci-fi tropes and gave us a compelling story that matters. For the first time with this show, I'm excited to see what happens next.
