My actual correct entry here, I gave a point to Conspiracy. The episode itself was fine, but the complete and total lack of follow-up hurt it retroactively.
Yeah. I recall they were going to be a precursor to the Borg, with "The Neutral Zone" also contributing via the pitted bases, but the writers' strike and all had the insectoid life form that worked with the tiny 80s neon purple crawdads being ditched (think "Battlestar Galactica from 1978" combined with cost savings) and our favorite little cybernetic critters being used instead. "Where Silence is Lease" is okay, I don't hate the story, but I've never seen it on a best episodes list before and it definitely wouldn't have made mine. Part of the problem with it is that it's just random spooky weirdness designed to see how the characters react. The other part is that at the end Nagilum tells us what he's learned about humans, and it has nothing to do with the choices anyone made. It's just generic 'humans are barbaric etc.' stuff and it makes the whole thing seem kind of pointless.
