It might not look like it fits in TOS, but the story and lore does fine.
There you go again with your meaningless 'lore' buzzword. Constantly repeating it does not make it true.

It isn't meaningless.
It's not my fault you need everything explained to you.If you're just going to do the 'no it isn't! yes it is!' thing again, the conversation is over.

It is over for good, at least between me and Dukhat. No, it isn't!![]()

They all exist in multiple universes, Discovery is just another one. I trust what my eyes and my common sense tell me.
Your eyes deceive you, don't trust them.Right now, there is nothing about the show that makes me think it takes place in the same universe with the original series. Uniforms simply aren't going to cut it, as they are used in the Abramsverse and modified in the Mirror Universe. Same for the 1701. Or Sarek and Amanda.

who are you going to trust? the producers or your lying eyes?I trust what my eyes and my common sense tell me.
i hope the writers are. but i'm not that convinced...I wish some fans were as concerned about the quality of the writing, as they are about what universe I think the show takes place in.
I wish the writing was better, but I have a feeling that was a byproduct of the pre-release drama and mixups.I wish some fans were as concerned about the quality of the writing, as they are about what universe I think the show takes place in.
^^ But it's all Prime because CBS said so.![]()
if you look inside that dimension you see Khan's Magic Blood, the Warp 10 Salamandar Children of Paris and Janeway, the Genesis Torpedo, the Kzin, and other things you arent supposed to see twice.I
Although, the magic mushroom dimension that spawned all life is something I thought they'd have noticed before.
That's not really a strong analogy, because with LOTR you do have distinctions about what is and isn't canonical. The novels by Tolkien are the canon. Everything else is an adaptation.i keep going back to tolkien because it's in the news right now.
there are books (obviously). there are the old ralph bakshi cartoons (the hobbit, fellowship of the ring, return of the king). there's the peter jackson LOTR and hobbit trilogies. there's a new amazon series (which may or may not be related to the films).
these are all portrayals of more or less the same story, told differently. they're not separate universes or realities within the middle-earth legendarium, they're simply different renditions.
i think of discovery in the same light.
