Another thing I noticed was her new sonic hardly seems to make a sound. Every time she whips it out and uses it I keep expecting to hear a whirring sound like we've always had, but I can barely hear anything.
There was definitely a whirring noise last week. Maybe this screwdriver has a mute button?

I thought her reaction was confusion because she didn't know what the Remnant was talking about.

My take: "Huh? What the hell are they talking about... oh SHIT, they're finding secrets in my head I don't even remember, I need to shut them down now before they get to the really dangerous stuff I DO remember!!"

So, new TARDIS. It has given her the barebones of a new interior. Like an empty flat you are moving into.
I hope the Doctor and team make it look more comfortable and lived in over subsequent episodes.
Give it that extra personal touch.

That's odd. I was struck this week by the fact that it makes the exact same sound it always has, which seems odd given that it was scratch-built from totally different components. Maybe your broadcaster's audio mix is muffling the sound effects.

I don't think you have to have deep secrets to be offended by an invasion of your mental privacy. It's something it's perfectly reasonable to be offended by on general principles.

I liked that, too. I really expected her to quote The Second Doctor, so I was relieved when she said she actually liked it. :D

Also, "you've done yourself up" was kinda from #2 as well.

After 4 times the Doctor didn't like a redecorating, it's about time she likes ones. Though usually, the Doctor was at odds with one of his other selves, so there is that.

Yeah. The Doctor's only said that when critiquing later Doctors' console rooms, which presumably reflect their differing aesthetic senses. So it stands to reason that she'd like her own console room, presuming the Doctor and the TARDIS are psychically in sync even when separated in space and time.

Doctor Who 11.02 'The Ghost Monument' Review
The second episode of series 11. But first, the new Titles. Very 'snazzy'. The introduction scenes, where Graeme and Ryan meet Angstrom and the Doctor and Yas meet Epzo, were done very well. A very effective lead up from the conclusion of the previous episode, where they ended up in space. The cinematography of the crash sequence aboard Epzo's ship was quite well done. The set up of the Great Race was also interesting. What is Ilin's motivation behind running this race? This isn't answered in this episode.
Then there is the mystery of the planet, which is efficiently built up through the episode. This along with the tension between Angstrom and Epzo make this a rather good story. (And the efficient use of storytelling tropes. e.g. the cigar which is later used to get out of a rather tight spot.) That the Doctor and her friends are outside the race is used effectively. Of course a story needs antagonists, and the threats that planet holds are rather effective at that. Specifically the robots. The Doctor's point that brains are better than bullets is very apt.
(No, Ryan, running out and firing widely isn't going to work against robots. This isn't Halo!) Of course the robots aren't the only antagonists. Flesh eating bugs in the water. (The scenes on the boat are rather good also.) But the scientists who created this stuff working for 'Tim Shaw's race? Is that going to be the arc for this season? And those Remnants, very creepy, and what is the Timeless Child? Is it the Doctor as a child? Or Susan? Or something else entirely? (They're not the only entities to feed off fear though).
Angstrom's backstory is sad though. It isn't certain that getting the winnings from the race (especially if they're dual winners) would be able to help her family. But getting the two to both win, is a very Doctor solution. However, the new console room will take some getting used to. Very organic, and analogue. Overall a great episode. 9/10.

A few things, really:

Firstly, I love the intro. Having finally got to see it, it's terrific.
Secondly, Jodie Whittaker's Doctor is rather quickly flying up the rankings in my head. She keeps this up, and she might even take the top spot, I think she's that good.

Thirdly, the episode itself: I like introducing our companions to an alien planet by it being right smack towards the end of a death race, and how that played out. I'm curious to see if (when) Ryan warms up to Graham, who is just really awesome, I love the guy. Yaz is fun, but I want to see her fleshed out a bit more, because she doesn't get a family member to play off of in building character development. She has a lot of potential, though, and I certainly like her by this point. I'm curious to see how they grow and develop moving forward.

One of the touching moments for me was when the Doctor discovered it was the Stenza (sp?) who had been building these bio weapons. Graham is shocked to discover they're the same race who had murdered his wife, and Angstrom replies "mine too!" in such a way, that you can just feel them connect in that moment, two people whose grief bridged the gap between their species. I knew from that point forward, Angstrom was going to make certain the Doctor and companions got home safely.

Oh, and Epzo? He was okay (loved the Doctor's "do you practice those lines in the mirror?" comment), though just a bit too bog standard loner for me to get a feel for him, and I knew Chekov's Cigar *cough* gun was going to come into play, but I do like how that worked out, even knowing it would play a role later. Still, that he was willing to share the reward, that he also pushed for the Doctor and friends to be taken home was a real sign of growth.

All in all, a brilliant episode in my opinion, and also, I may have cried just a little bit when the Tardis appeared.

Oh hell, I cried and clapped.

Bring on the next episode!

Very good! I really, really enjoyed this one. Three key points. Jodi is awesome! Intense! And, mysterious!

One thing I've noticed with Chibnall's two stories so far is that in both cases the characters have to figure out what is happening, not just how to resolve the situation. It's an additional layer of mystery that I think was skipped with the previous two show runners. I like it! I hope it's a regular thing.

Wasn't wild about the new title sequence. Too busy. The music itself reminds of the McCoy era a bit. Not a good thing.

Really, really loved the story, the characters, and Jodi! And, it looks like a little bit of an arc is in the works with the Stensis or whatever the big bad is called!

The second time, #2 was critiquing UNIT HQ in the Five Doctors and the third time #11 was commenting on Craig's new house. Tennant's frownie face in DOTD was pure Troughton though.

Then Clara used the line as well.

I want proper spaceship buttons and lights, darn it!

Yes! While it doesn't have to look like a conception of futuristic technology, it needs to look like a functional control room. I don't care for the junkyard, made out of what was available look. Capaldi's console room is also my favorite.

Talking of console rooms 12's I didn't like but only because of the 3 spinning dials above the console just made me think of Stargate all the time. If that had not been there it would have been my favourite.

It also felt like it had proper controls on the console much like 5's

God no, we don't need more forgotten incarnations in the Doctor's past. One was more than enough.

Besides that visceral reaction against it, I'd say the fact that a forgotten incarnation was done relatively recently reduces the odds that it'll happen now.
You mean you're not looking forward for Moffat's Doctor 2.5, between Troughton and Pertwee?

(I know about Devious.)
