Spoilers The Expanse Season 6

The final scene in the trailer made me think things are being set up for an adaptation of books 7-9 but that can't be the case and this season will be way too short to fit those books in. So why is that scene there at all?

A little while ago the producers gave an interview where they said the show had to be cancelled because of some terms in the contract Amazon & Alcon made with the SyFy channel (or something like that) but that once the time period on that contract expires and full rights return to Alcon they want to make a "spin off" continuing the story.

It's still an odd scene to include in a trailer for this season. I doubt I'll live long enough to see any continuation but I'll have book nine to read very soon.

"BELTALOWDA, EYES AND EARS"!

5 days to go. I am so pumped for season 6.

I'll miss Alex in this season. I miss Miller still. I wonder if they've got Jared Harris to come back and reprise his role as Anderson Dawes? I've been hoping for them to resolve the OPA storyline satisfactory. Now that Fred Johnson is dead.

Only time shall tell. I've got 14 episodes to watch left in my rewatch.

according to a video review from PetePeppers that I watched earlier there is a minor character from season 1. Who I don't know and he didn't say who it was.

Watch it be Julie Mao's actress. Haha.

I'd dig it if they brought back Tom Jane to play Miller. I miss the Protomolecule storyline from the earlier seasons.

There are a couple of characters who I think could be seen. Havelock and Anderson Dawes, as they are featured in the novels. Depends on the actors available especially with Jared Harris.

Apparently, there's some sort of lack of business enthusiasm for releasing soundtrack albums for season five or (eventually) six. Clinton Shorter, the composer, posted about it on Reddit, and suggested contacting the record company to express your enthusiasm. There's also a petition, which I usually find to be a waste of time, but apparently there was a petition that may have had something with getting the long-delayed season two and three albums released, so maybe it's worth your five seconds to add your name.

Really looking forward to this and since I haven't read the novels (yet*) hopefully I won't feel cheated by the truncated final season.

*one of these days I will. To be honest I'm put off by the fact there, what, nine or ten books now?

9 books, will be ten total. Plus a bunch of little short stories. I've been reading them this year. They're good books.

Yeah I think it's just the commitment. I don't have as much time to read anymore so I might only read fifteen books a year, which means either committing to spending most of the year on the expanse, or accepting it might take me a few years to get through them, especially as ideally I tend to mix and match from one book to the next (currently reading my third crime novel in a row and ready for some sci-fi or horror next!)

I started "reading" them as audiobooks as I hiked/drive/went to the gym but after the 2nd one I couldn't find any available copies through my library system, so had to switch to actually reading them.

!!!
I hadn't thought of audiobooks. I used to listen to the Trek audiobooks (voiced by the cast) and Dr. Who audiobooks when I drove and was in college. I hadn't thought about that format for years. You've inspired me to invest in getting the audiobooks for the Expanse.
