So there could be a ban on gambling ads soon. About bloody time. Yet there are some people complaining about their being a ban.

This story has made me so angry. A woman starved to death in her unit in Tasmania. At least two neighbours and her brother contacted police because they were worried about the woman. Police did a welfare check, they had to bust the door to get inside. it was obvious that the woman was seriously ill but the police did not call an ambulance. Instead they simply contacted the housing service Centacare Evolve to tell them the door was broken, and the police officers concerned filled out a report of their contact and the report went nowhere. It looks like Centacars Evolve made no attempt to fix the door.
One of the neighbours contacted Centrecare Evolve saying that she was concerned about the lady and the neighbour was told that they could not discuss the lady’s case with her.

They cannot put the blame on the community this time. This time the neighbours and brother did the right thing and tried to get help for her. The police failed completely to do the right thing.
it seems that the woman was a recluse and that the brother was the only member of the family she wanted to have any contact with. He said she hasn’t allowed him inside the home for at least 10 years and he said she rarely answered her phone.
One of my friends seems to be missing. I last saw her on 3 May and her sister hasn’t seen for weeks either. We cannot go to her home to check on her because she moved about 6 years ago and has, for reasons I cannot fathom, refuse to give us her new address. She had her landline cut off about a year or so ago and bought a mobile phone but only gave the phone number to me. Her sister was not aware that she had a mobile phone until just before Christmas when I mentioned it to her.
She usually visits her sister on Mondays and she has lunch with me every second Wednesday. I phone her at 3pm on Saturdays which is the only time she has her phone on. Very occasionally she phones me if she wants me to look up cinema times on the internet.
I have tried to phone her several times and have left messages for her. It was her birthday on the 24th of May and the last time I saw her she told me what she wanted for her birthday and we also discussed plans for how we would spend her birthday. I have tried phoning her at her sister’s on a Monday but she hasn’t turned up there. Neither of my sons have seen her at the shopping centre in the last three or so weeks despite the fact that my son and my friend go to the centre most days. Her sister is a cleaner at the shopping centre.
Her sister is going to report her missing today and I have told her to give my address/phone number to them.

The police seem to excel at fucking things up
We now know my missing friend turned up to an appointment with an optometrist 10 days and that her address is ‘no fixed abode’. We also were informed by Tas Housing that she has not been a client of theirs for several years. So when she moved out of her house in 2016/17 she must have gone into private housing.
Now that we know she isn’t dead in her unknown address her sister and I have agreed that we should no longer worry about her. For some reason she has decided she no longer wants to be in contact with us, at least for the time being. I have no idea why she has decided on this as she and I have been friends for 37 years.

People change, I have had this happen to me too and it's kind of heartbreaking with someone you thought you knew for years and years but people just change and sometimes they come around and get in contact again and other times they just wander off
Sometimes people just drop you. Sometimes you drop them, they know what they did. If you don't know why, don't sweat it. You have other things going on in your life. At this point, I'd sing a song from 'Frozen', but you get the drift.

I don't like the woman who accused him, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. And now others have come forward. He should be charged and dumped from Parliament altogether. But, you know, Tory sleaze. Maybe it'll turn up in the NACC.

Well he's still a pollie, he didn't resign like most thought he should. Maybe Dutton hopes this will all blow over and then he quietly slips back into the party
