The Down Under Lounge

Any of you watch Four Corners this week?

You should, it's on iView, and it will make you grind your teeth.

That's where I did my tertiary education.

Yep.

Note 2nd and 3rd videos are the same incident from different angles.

well given that I pointed out that S.A has a liberal government that would make your post redundant wouldn't it.

Dude calm down.

I didn't see your post when writing mine.

Who would you guys nominate for Australian Of The Year for 2021?

I'm thinking firies and emergency workers.

Speaking of scummy politicians, it's not a matter or legality, but ethics. The LNP don't have a gram of ethics in them.

And Jordan goes in even harder! The first 20 min is a little cringey but holy crap, he brings the hammer at the end.

I like FriendlyJordies but they do get attacked a lot.

On another note poor Scotty From Marketing, I think he was expecting Trump to win.

So apparently there's a movie in production about the events leading up to Port Arthur. It's difficult to imagine anything more crass, pointless and unnecessary (IMO, anyway). Why give the perpetrator any more attention?

Yeah I'm a bit upset with this but what do you do?
There have been movies about other terrible events too but I'm not sure what you can do. I'm sad for all the families of the victims who are still around.

I'm not sure what a reasonable timeframe would be before such a movie about a close event like this should be done, or should it even?

Never missed Let The Blood Run free in the 90s and the wonderful Lynda Gibson and Brian Nankervis. All those people who say Australians are not funny, and there are a lot of them, I say just watch that. From the 90s. Over 20 years ago but it still counts.

I also have a few Irish cousins and the bass player in my old band that emigrated to Australia. I would love to visit.
