I saw some comments of people who said they were voting yes. Don't know what other sites shared this. I checked and the next election won't happen until 2019.

Just looked at the poll. Now 63% voting no. Still the yes vote scares me. Lots of idiots.
The left really needs to stop name calling. Trying to shame people into changing their politics doesn't work. We saw that in the US with Trump. People will just lie about who they are voting for and vote for them anyway. It makes it look like the only response you have is to name call which isn't a valid criticism of the policies anyone holds to. Your opinions will be, and rightly should be, ignored.
Basic respect matters. At least it does if you want someone to listen to you and give your opinion any weight. Remember that the respect you give a person in private can usually be clearly seen in public. You might not call them "morons" or "idiots" or anything else to their face but they can read your facial expressions and your body language. If the left wants to convince people, the holier than thou attitude needs to go.

There are plenty of people on the left who do not name call. I try to keep all ableist words out of my conversations though occasionally one slips by.

When I have politely argued my Anti-Thump, anti-One Nation, feminist, equalitarian, views etc I have been called welfare scum, leftard, snowflake, feminazi, a misandrist, a bitch etc and at one anti-One Nation rally I was threatened by a man from the One Nation side who was considerable younger and larger than me because I was taking photos of the rally.

Given that the government has a majority of one in the house of reps it could come a lot sooner.

Cory abandoned the LNP and now Turnbull is trying to play tough in Parliament and go on the attack. Too little too late I think.
