The DEADPOOL Movie Anticipation Thread

I wonder how many young people watching also didn't get the Ferris Bueller reference in the post credits, but still laughed?

What about Ferris Bueller??? I haven't seen the movie either.

It was almost 100% identical to Ferris Bueller's after credits scene. (Complete with "Chicka chickaaaaa!")

I laughed because of the fact Marvel films have trained me to bear through those long, trying credits and hoping to see a teaser for something. So when the sequence came on, it was almost laughing at me for waiting for more when there isn't anything else. I didn't figure the scene was supposed to make me reminisce to a classic 80's film. It was funny though, even if it was a nod from Ferris Bueller.

I'm 34 and I didn't get the Ferris Buehller reference at all. I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid.

I think it's still a known thing. It's been on TV a billion times at this point.

Which always seems odd to me. Because the Ferris Bueller after-credits scene directly references the fact that its audience is in a movie theater. I've only seen it on TV, so it seems kind of short-sighted of the Bueller producers to not realize that 90+% of its viewers will be watching the film at home.

I have the same issue with Gremlins 2. My life is hard.

Gremlins 2 has an alternate scene on the VHS release where the Gremlins take control of the tape and begin switching channels. It could have worked a bit better on television.

I've seen Ferris Bueller, but I honestly didn't know there was a post-credits scene there.

Saw it a second time tonight because I was sure (and right) that I missed a lot of gags, jokes, references, hilarity, etc.. I predict (and you can quote me) this one's gonna/might probably/perhaps hold up pretty well... definitely.

I'm going this evening to see it again. Seems like the type of movie that will hold up quite well to multiple viewings.

Just as much fun the second time around.

Morena Baccarin is aging like a fine wine.

I just got back from watching Deadpool again. During the end credits, I thought to myself: "You know, I'd love to see them do a Scooby Doo/Clue/Wayne's World style ending in Deadpool 2. That'd be awesome."

Absolutely loved it. Went to see it with a friend and we rarely, if ever, agree on our ratings of films. But we both laughed like drains all the way through and agreed that it was brilliant. Finally Reynolds got the sort of role I've hoped to see him in since his show-stealing turn in Blade 3. This ought to be his signature character.

^ The great thing about Deadpool is that it's an appropriate place for Ryan Reynolds to play that kind of wise-cracking character. I think it was successful because it is such a good match between actor and character.

Agreed, I always liked Reynolds but he wasn't right for some of his roles (I think we all know wich one in particular ;) ), so I'm glad he gets all the critical and audience acclaim.
