Anyone see this new series?

First episode was last week, it airs Monday nights on ABC.

It takes place in a "small town" in Washington state, one day the local sheriff is called to body on the beach, on arrival he finds the body and it's soon followed by numerous other bodies and living people, hundreds coming out of the ocean from an unknown origin point. The survivors say they're travelers from 150 years in the future where humans are an endangered species following a take-over of society/government by [enhanced] persons with abilities, they came here as refugees to live a better, freer, life. A member of this group of people says that they're not the first group to have come back, smaller groups have also crossed in the past -possibly including the enhanced persons. Series follows the sheriff of the town, and an HSI agent leading the investigation of what's going on with these people, dubious on their claims though she admits that everyone's story is consistent.

Some special focus on a little girl saved from the exodus in the water and her mother, separated from the main group and now "teaming up" with the sheriff who's largely being snuffed out of the investigations by HSI.

The first episode was pretty good and intriguing, I'm sure you can find it on an OnDemand service or on-line, no member of the cast for me yet stands out, the only thing that gives me concern is a possible "Lost Effect" where the show will be piles of mysteries with, ultimately, no real satisfying conclusion and, well, getting involved with a serialized show like this and have get canceled before any resolution is reached.

Me & my wife have seen it (on ON Demand via Comcast), and like it so far.

However, it DOES remind me of NBC's "The EVent" a while back (which we also liked)...and I think a couple of other shows, like ABC's "Resurrection"

But the characters are engaging, so we look forward to more.

By the way, Trekker4747, it looks like the "mother" actually just adopted the girl...sounds ike a guilt thing, as she is a rebel...what were they called..Ajax?

Apex. ;)

Looks like we were both sort-of right, the "mother" wasn't biologically the girl's mother but one functionally from the future. I honestly wouldn't have expected us to get a "look" at the future this soon so that was kind of a nice surprise, as little as we got. Though, with how it was given to us it felt...

Well, it felt like a First Run Syndication or Sci-Fi (SyFy) series "future" where things are "vaguely" futuristic with guns with glowy bits on them, dramatic lighting and, naturally, uniform clothing for future inhabitants. It just looked like the kind of future you'd see in a 1990s cable TV series or something, and not a 21st century network show.

I'm really not sure how I feel about any of the characters yet, the "Apex" lady and the HSI agent are about the only people I care about, the sheriff I'm not feeling yet as his actions seem fairly random and we've not gotten much "backstory" on him. (Granted it's only been a couple of episodes.)

The show saw pretty steep declines in the ratings over the previous week, which doesn't exactly speak good for the longevity of the series. Hopefully it'll find some stable ground or see some increases to at least warrant the full season's release.
