Yeah, thats definitely what spotters are for. I was always afraid of that happening when I lifting, and feel bad for anyone who has to find out first hand. Plus, that guy is benching way more than I ever could.
An update on the USC player Johnson. After 7 hours of surgery, it is expected that he will fully recover even though he's not able to speak yet. The article says that his muscular neck probably saved his life.
Glad the kid's going to be OK.
CV, yes it was a good come back, and I think Forcier has the starter's job locked up forever. I really like his playing style and that the Michigan coaches are letting him go for it. The offense is alright, then again MSU has a fair defense at best. Where the Wolverines have real problems is on defense still. But I have a feeling it will come around.
Watched Alabama today and frankly, they are my #1 team right now. They have looked consistently excellent no matter who they have played.
I was glad to see them win as well. The fact that they won't lower their standards places them at a recruiting disadvantage, but speaks highly of the school. To those who actually mentioned Stanford in this thread, I know, it's unreal. Harbaugh's got them believing in something and while I don't follow them as much as Cal, it's nice to see the other Bay Area team (On my side of the Bay) do well.
