the BRAGA touch...

Because of all the STAR TREK seasons he was part of, I can always tell when Braga's hand is at play on 24. Be it up front, or behind the scenes.

Without spoiling too much, here was the latest 'braga' touch. Jack Bauer has kept his eye on a young buck, soldier if you will, making sure he doesn't get hurt. The actor playing the young dude looks like he just turned 14 years old, but there he is, running around as a young with a CTU unit, even about to lead an attack team.!!!

Meanwhile, the evil bad dudes (terrorist of course) have a young buck of their own whom they are preparing to be a suicide bomber.

Now..here comes the Braga touch. You know by watching the lead up episodes, and how 'similar' the two 'young bucks' are (both scared to be doing what they are doing) they will end up confronting...GASP..SHOCK...each other!!!

The Braga touch...alive and well.

I don't remember a story like that in Star Trek though.

Now if Jack Bauer went back in time to fight space nazis...

There was a nice "Braga touch" last season. Early on, like the first or second episode, Tony and his terrorist buddies have the CIP device are going to use it to pretend to be ATC and cause a plane crash. So the terrorist buddy is trying to use it, can't get it to work and he says...

:sigh:

"I can't get it to work. It must be out of phase!"

Oh good gort, is Braga the reason this season sucks so much?

Liked the young dude. He's cute. He played the role way too "scared," tho. I don't care if he's 22 years old, a guy who chooses a profession like that and gets through the training process is not going to shit his pants at the first evildoer he meets, or at the very least, will hide it better.

Braga's been an EP on 24 for a couple seasons now.

Yup, though the world tries to blame the failing economy and terrorism on Braga, it's unfair to say this season's failure (which I don't agree with, this is no season 6 by any means!) is his fault.

Actually, I'm not saying its a bad thing at all. I actually enjoyed last season, and this season, and I think BRAGA is one of the reasons this show has turned around.

By the way..is the other Coto involved with the production related to manny? Or is that by chance?

There was a time when I was considered quite the authority on Star Trek, but maybe my memory has faded somewhat in my old age.

What episode are you referring to here ?

I personally thought the Coto/Braga episodes were the best episodes of Season 7. I've liked their episodes in Season 8 as well, but as a whole Season 7 was a whole lot better.

^Again, what episode are we talking about here ? If you can't remember the title, then describe it and I'll probably be able to figure it out.

It wasn't so long ago that I was contributing articles to Memory Alpha (and mostly from memory) but I can't think of what episode you're talking about.

How is a teenager commanding a special ops team the "Braga Touch?" Assuming you're referring to his work on Star Trek, than Braga never really had kids in situations like this. In fact the only time Trek even came close to something like this was with Wesley Crusher, but he left TNG right around the same time Braga first joined.

Oh, right, this is just an excuse to mock and belittle Brannon Braga. Yawn. Now that you've become the Cool Guy around here, go put your leather jacket on and strut about like you're something else.

I suppose now we're going to have to hear someone slam Rick Berman...?
